Just a little experiment here. What do you remember about and where were you when...
1. JFK was shot? 2. 9/11 happened? 3. Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting happened? 4. Stoneman Douglas High School shooting in Parkland happened?
I'll go first.
1. don't recall, wasn't born yet. 2. In a colleague's office where we got distracted by 2nd impact, commenting how idiot spectator flew too close. 3. don't recall. 4. don't recall.
I do remember being on a couch studying for calculus exam when space shuttle exploded on takeoff....and in a DC hotel watching mom cry when Elvis died....and seeing Dad rush in to TV room when Reagan got shot...and on the school bus hearing one of the older girls crying about Lennon.... don't remember much about the various airline disasters....or Chernobyl....or H Bush throwing up on that feller.

I was working in Atlanta during 9/11. A friend of mine was working near the Pentagon and pinged me when he saw the smoke coming from it. That's how I heard about the whole thing.
God belief is for people who don't want to live life on the universe's terms.

That's a significant event that I hadn't thought of. I don't recall any details of where I was or what I was doing when I heard about the shooting death of Lennon.

While it doesn't have the staying power of some other news events, I think this was a "where when you when?" moment for those who lived during it.
I certainly recall the event but I don't recall details of where/when/what I was doing at the time.
I'm surprised you were exposed to that in kindergarten. Was it a case where the assembly was watching the lift off and it happened spontaneously before your eyes? I'm guessing, yes.
