I think that is a reason why many marriages fail. But I could be wrong.

The #1 reason marriages fail is finance. I think people being out of work is just as big or more a part of this resulr as being stuck at home together.

Strong comitted marriages are less vulnerable obviously but this lockdown magnifies the suffering in bad relationships.

It's all evolution. Humans did not evolve to be with the same person for life.

In our evolutionary past, we have all kinds of traits we've grown out of (or evolved away from, perhaps). It's our natural inclination to crap our pants, but we can be trained to avoid it. More than anything, humans have learned to learn, which is their primary survival advantage. If you decide not to learn in order to make a relationship work, that's your problem, not one with humanity generally.
