How curious of you to make this claim, when I expressed a willingness to work on treating Hound of Heaven a little better. I noticed you did not respond to my message, which I found very odd. Now you are denying that I responded? Or what? Misreading my response? I am genuinely trying to understand what happened here. Please help me out. What it looks like to me, pardon me for saying, is that you are really motivated to drive wedges, and when this reward is not forthcoming, you revert to other tactics.
You can trust your instincts on this one. It’s not like we haven’t been down this road before.
That is everything you need to understand, Kishkumen. Observe the response from Canpakes, a board moderator. A typical moderator who is committed to their role would have waited and observed the direction of our conversation, looking for any potential signs of hope for reconciliation on the board, or perhaps an idea that could emerge from this thread to benefit the board. However, Canpakes is not your average moderator, he revels in the vitriol, animosity, and the sheer hatred that we all engage in here. He didn't even allow your thread to reach the 2nd page to determine if any positive outcomes could arise from our discussion about the board.

If a moderator lacks the insight to observe a conversation develop with the potential for positive outcomes for the board, then there is truly no point in continuing the discussion.

Let's keep bashing on each other. Because with a moderator like Canpakes, there's no way the temperature of this board will ever cool down.

I am getting increasingly tired of AI taking up so much of the bandwidth on this board. I am happy to interact with real people who disagree with me and others—Ceeboo, MG 2.0, etc., but we are seeing a lot of long-winded, repetitive posts that bear the hallmarks of AI composition. I don’t want to see this place cluttered with this garbage, anymore than I want to see ads. No, I think it is worse than ads.

Let’s discuss how we rid ourselves of the phony post problem. Am I alone in this?
Professor, this is absolutely priceless. Yesterday “amazing shot” didn’t mean amazing shot. Then context didn’t mean context. Then I wasn’t critiquing, I was angry. Then I wasn’t angry, I was AI. And now — voila — AI is a threat to the board itself. Suddenly it’s not about the posts, it’s about the safety of the community. My god, you’ve spun a whole afterschool special out of your own excuses.

You’re not pulling the plug on AI, you’re just trying to pull the plug on criticism. Dress it up as moral panic if you want, but everyone can see the dodge. Words that can’t be beaten get relabeled, and relabeled, and relabeled again until you’ve worked yourself into the noble role of protector. And yes, I know — I’ve repeated that mirror line more than once. Call it my AI tell if you want. But unlike your dodge, I admit the repetition.

You’re not protecting the board, Professor, you’re fogging up the mirror and scaring yourself with the reflection. Congratulations — you’ve gone full Tipper Gore. Next up: Karen Warnings for the posts that offend your feelings. But hey, I’ll save you the trouble: Rated R for Reality and Rated A for Kishkumen can kiss my asskumen.

I didn't ask you to be nicer to me, I asked you to try something new and think outside the box for a few days, see what happens on the board.
So you won’t mind me quoting your message to see whether my interpretation of your words is reasonable?

If you post enough of these fake AI things, you can justify banning your fake AI things. Team Amazing Shot can celebrate saving itself from itself. Its like leftovers man. You save your life from starvation when you put them in the fridge, and then save your life from food poisoning when you throw it away next summer.

I'll do it for you, here's exactly what I said:

"Personally, I think you're a good guy. I can tell by your videos you have a good heart.

So do you want to do a little experiment? when we post, let's start treating one another with the utmost respect, almost over doing it, to see who picks up on it first. And afterwards, I won't even say anything, I'll let you talk about what we did if you choose to."

Wrong, Hound. The “temperature of the board” isn’t measured in degrees, watts, or whatever sciencey unit you’re reaching for. Around here it’s measured in sighs-per-minute — the rate at which antiapologistapologists roll their eyes, ask trick-F questions and declare something unserious or threatening serious, depends.

I remember the bygone days when Atlantic Mike rolled in to immediately insult everyone, just after Cultellus asked if we could all just spice things up in order to increase board views.

I guess that both of them were wrong.

Kishkumen, take a look at this reply from a moderator. It seems he prefers to avoid discussions about improving the board for posting! Why can't Canpakes refrain from childish behavior just once and permit people to engage in a discussion about a more constructive way forward? Isn't that part of his duty as a moderator?
