Coincidence that perfume is poisonous and the band Perfume is terrible? I don't think so.

 their advice? Don't let your children imbibe Perfume. Its assimilation by youth is dangerous. Counteract immediately with heavy sugary treats.

Why all this enthusiasm for hurting Shades' feelings?

Without him, we would not be enjoying this paradisal environment of pure intellectual exchange ... a little grateful consideration is in order, no?

Shades’ feelings are hurt?

The problem is Perfume can’t hold a candle to Tatsuro Yamashita, Yumi Matsutoya, T-Square, or even Anri. Maybe if he had better taste he’d appreciate Shiina Ringo, if you listen to her albums in chronological order you can hear the evolution of her sound, and it's far from boring, in my not so humble opinion.

Perfume manages a 5th place finish, at best, behind masayoshi takanaka who takes first, second, third, and fourth place!

I tend to agree. Shades is NOT going to be happy about this, at all.

Oh boy. Someone is going to get in trouble -- and it ain't me.

I'm getting the “F” out of here!

I don't think anyone is trying to hurt Shades' feelings. It's more about providing Shades with a valuable education.

Perfume is not worth mindless worship. If Shades were a bit more realistic about them, I doubt anyone would even comment. In fact, I know I wouldn't, because they're not worth it. I comment for Shades, not Perfume.

The god idea is popular with desperate people.

In rebuttal, even Pentatonix has sung Perfume songs.

Yeah. The rule regarding Perfume would be successfully comical if it were tongue in cheek fun, in my opinion. There's something almost Monty Python about having that rule inserted among the rest. Instead it feels like Shades has opted to use the board as a platform for hosting his personal fan website. I don't know that he's taken the rule so far as to punish anyone for mocking Perfume. But having it taken beyond mere matter of personal interest to codified protected and special status makes it different from other matters of personal interest.

Gents,

I’m just creating an object lesson regarding a rules violation - if Shades enforces the Perfume Rule while ignoring other Rules then we have a moral dilemma, which is always fun to parse. Whatever the case may be, he probably sees through the ruse and thinks it’s funny. I don’t know what the “F” anything I posted means with regard to JPOP - I’m just grabbing rando google searches of the Internet and making sentences.

On a more serious note I actual hope Shades is ok. I hadn't seen him around since late last week and thought he'd at least make an appearance to comment on some of the recent posts. We even mentioned Mormon Talk and he failed to materialize.
