According to my doctor (actually it was my first appointment to an allergy place I had scheduled anyway) one thing can lead to the next as junk globs down into your throat and settles into your bronchial tubes then if not treated, you get pneumonia. I was immediately put on antibiotics and actually had to do a nebulizer treatment there and I haven't had one of those since 1999 when I was deathly ill from the flu--which also was on the heels of a trip back to Jersey in December and a return to altitude.

I think it's the dry and thin air that's responsible for this. Usually I can avoid it with adding humidity to the air...but that last time I was on nothing but dry air for 6 hours during the flight and well, there it went!

It's really nice living here. I have no problem working out and all at altitude for example. It's the transitioning back and forth that's a problem.

Both seem technically possible. If I didn't have corona before, which I still think is quite likely, I am genuinely concerned about how bad it will get for me. I am not recovered from my previous flu.

Some days I do walking tours, but most days are spent on the top of an open top bus. Day tours are 2.5 hours, night tours 1.5 hours. On the day tours we make 16 stops. That means 16 times up and down the stairs, if someone wants to get on or off. Up until last week, I did 3 day tours a day.

The bad news is I work in a very high risk environment. I am in close contact with travelers from all over the world. My best friend, who I visit daily, has a daughter with severe medical problems that make her very high risk. So right now I'm asking myself if I should not visit them, which I do every day.

California Governor Newsom is now recommending that all persons over 65 self-quarantine. I'm going to work tomorrow, but I will be talking with them about what to do. Business is so bad, and the future of tourism is so dismal I feel I'm probably going to be laid off in the next few weeks anyway, so I'm tempted to try to stay until I get laid off.

If you wait to get laid off will that ensure that you get unemployment coverage? Still and all, do you want to wait? These are tough times insofar as decision making is concerned.

I didn't. I'm not opposed to vaccines. It's just that I'm allergic to eggs and normally can't get the flu vaccine because of how they are produced. I only learned after I had the flu (probably) that it's a cell culture this year and I could've gotten it.

Oh that's right I recall now that you mentioned that in a previous post. Sorry to make you repeat yourself! I get one every year. The one and only year that I didn't I got deathly ill. 1999. I'll never forget it.

Not unless Seattle changes states while I wasn’t paying attention. I live at ground zero in Snohomish County, Washington, proud home of the first discovered case of COVID-19 in the US. I’m also lucky enough to be two blocks north of the border of King County, where the virus first got into an elder care facility, and went through it like the angel of death. We’re the coming attraction for what will soon be playing at a hospital near you.

Seriously, I hope not. We have outstanding medical and research facilities here. Because we were first, we got off to a very late start. Maybe our top notch facilities will help us avoid an overrun. Hopefully, we can be useful data for you folks in other areas of the country.

That’s heartbreaking. I’m so sorry. One thing I’m pretty confident of: you should stop visiting your friend now. Only you know your own risk tolerance in terms of your own health, but I’m sure you don’t want to risk exposing your friend’s daughter. Are there economic benefits to being laid off as opposed to quitting?

Sir have to meet you in person. I really hope to move to Seattle Washington in the future (like in 2 to 5 years from now). It is probably the best city to make a living in the US.

Please be careful sir, and wash your hands.
