I look forward to my Bernie supporting Facebook friends posting ironically about how Russia didn't force them to vote the way they did just because social media is a thing ...

EA: the media covers Trump's cognation issues differently than they will Biden's, setting up a repeat of 2016.

Also EA (and others here): meme about Biden enforcing the idea he is slipping into dementia.

Biden will have Bloomberg's money (and hopefully some of his PR resources) to counter that campaign.

Not the point. The point is he, and you by extension, are participating in the very thing he was bemoaning because...I don't know.

Plato apparently had it right.

It concerns me.

I understand how you got there, but the timeline seems out of whack. Does the revolution/civil war happen before or after universal healthcare is implemented?

I'm serious about this question, because you seem to be implying that this health care class stratification will trigger the war, and I'm saying you need the war to get the change in the first place.

If you're simply talking about the conditions leading up to it, yeah, some of the attitudes we hear in this country are concerning. We're already there.

I posted the example earlier where Hannity tried to get Trump to push this narrative but he fell into one of his rambles instead. It's got Hannity and the online bots pushing it. Read into it what one will, indeed.

In Spain, the war came about after several major swings between pro-industrialists and elites, to pro-workers, to pro-elites, to pro-workers before the military largely led by officers from the upper classes of society moved to overthrow the pro-workers communist-backed Republic. We're in the early gyration phase. The way to disrupt it is to not pursue punitive policies that further escalate class divides. Rather, the need is to find solutions that solidify around central shared values and a recognition people don't come out of such conflicts better off on average, regardless of how bad they think they have it.

Schmo, I should add it isn't about healthcare reform. I think there is a way to pursue it and it should be pursued. My issue is with the movement coalescing around Sanders and what it represents along with how he would go about exerting power and influence at the executive level. I don't think we will be best served by electing an ideological socialist even if I agree with many of his big picture aims and concerns regarding inequality. The world isn't that binary, though. He isn't my guy for reasons that I hope I've thought through enough to be grounded on more than just partisan or ideological affinity. But probably not. EA is right to bitch about me being more of a pragmatist. It's funny he seems so hateful of centrist ideas. We probably even agree regarding what is at stake. We disagree fundamentally regarding what is making it worse or can improve the situation. Plus, I think he is opaque regarding what he genuinely believes so he usually seems to be playing contrarian devil's advocate.

He did the very thing he was bemoaning was being done by the media. It was ironically hypocritical.

Yes, my pointing out that Biden appears to be cognitively deteriorating definitely is hypocritical when you consider that I think legacy media has double standards about how it covers Republicans, and that this is reflected in how it covers Donald Trump's mental deterioration; deterioration I repeatedly complain about. Good thinking.
