Come on, R-I. You introduced the concept of a "meta pie fight" today. "What's not to love about that?"
I just can't. Got no meta. Got no pies. Got no fight.

MG seems unable to understand the difference between everyone disagreeing with him and an echo chamber where there is no disagreement.
I am with Shades on this.
The second we allow popular choice to govern who posts what, we loose that which makes this forum unique.
There are other solutions, like consigning him to Telestial and below like Shulem was, or place him in a queue as Lugwigm had to suffer for no reason. If he really is just here to troll, either of those will make him quit fast, if he isn't, he gets out on good behavior just like Shulem did.

Pies? Check. Fight? Check.
But is it meta?

Sounds like a plan. I'd love to have MG go down to the telestial kingdom and open a thread about the virtues of Smith's Explanations of . . . .
Then I could feast on troll meat. Wouldn't that be fun.
And this is why I didn't want to put the poster referred to earlier on ignore. I felt it best to see his posts rather than ignore them. Context is everything. Ignoring context while responding to other voices without understanding and/or 'seeing' the other person doesn't contribute towards an understanding and/or community among all participants. Even though I will/would not respond to the poster in question, at least I would know how his thoughts/contributions are adding to the overall conversation/discussion.
Otherwise, in a sense, I am running blind. And I don't see the sense in doing that. Others may.
From my vantage point I saw his behavior as troll like at times, or at least having a desire/impulse to fan the flames. But for me I didn't think it would be helpful to simply put him on ignore.
He left...and that was his decision. I would have no qualms with his returning and adding to the discussions through posting the source materials he has ready access to. I, along with others, enjoyed referencing/reading that material.
MG, if you really have an interest in Grindael returning, and you care at all about whether or not the board views you as a troll, you will do the following:
State publicly, in this thread, that if Grindael returns, you will not post in any of his threads. Period.
So you're chasing around a fly and in your world, I'm the idiot?

That sounds very reasonable to me. He should also agree that moderators may remove his posts should he go back on his word. Repeat offenses result in suspension.
