It's looking like a no on testing due to the current guidance being that only in instances where the test is believed to have a significant impact on care qualify. No official answer yet. Body aches have set in for her.

Re: Life Under Coronavirus
The governor of Nevada shut down the schools today and strip casinos are shutting down too. Trump's benefactor Adelson hasn't shut down his casinos yet and Station Casinos are resistant to shutting down, according to one of their casino managers I know. It's probably wise to just go along now and shut down for two weeks like Clark County Schools are doing and evaluate the situation at that point to see if more time is needed. It would be nice if testing were more widely available so authorities could better track cases and we would not have to be subjected to speculation.

Official word is they’ll do a flu test. If that comes back negative, it’s a strong sign it’s Corona. A Corona test will only be done if severe symptoms appear.

Is your local health department calling the shots?

We saw that news this morning. We were ahead of the casinos by about five days.
by the way, I meant to update my story on not being able to get through to the airline to cancel our flights to Vegas.
I finally got though yesterday morning (no busy signal) but was on hold waiting to talk to someone for over an hour. I got into a bit of an argument with her when she told me I was too late to cancel my flight, given the issues I had all week trying to get a hold of them. There was no resolution before the connection dropped... (did she just hang up on me?)
She didn't call me back, and when I tried the number again, I got the busy signal again.
I tried again a couple hours later, and in that time, the recorded message had changed. They were now saying that if you intended to change or cancel your flight due to the coronavirus, you could go to their website and click "Travel Alert" and apply for a credit (choose COVID-19 in the dropdown for your reason).
They've accepted my request. We'll see what actually comes of it. Obviously, we didn't fly to Vegas last night.
How many people are cancelling flights right now? What a phenomenal financial hit just to the airline industry alone.

Speaking of flattening the curve, the tri-state area is getting serious about it.
New Jersey, NY and CT are coordinating and as of 8 pm tonight, all bars restaurants, gyms, casinos, racetracks, movie theatres must close, and remain closed indefinitely.
From article at northjersey.com newspaper service:

From article at northjersey.com newspaper service:
What's closing?
Restaurants
Bars (if they do not serve food)
Casinos
Gyms
Movie theaters
Racetracks
All schools public, private and parochial starting Wednesday, March 18
Colleges and universities starting Wednesday, March 18
When are they closing and for how long?
The businesses listed above will close at 8 p.m. on Monday, March 16 and will remain closed indefinitely, said New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo. The three states will try to reopen these businesses on the same date, but it's unclear where that will be.
Restaurants can offer takeout and delivery services.
"Essential businesses which are necessary for the public’s health, safety, and welfare – like supermarkets and grocery stores, pharmacies, medical offices, and gas stations – may remain open past 8:00 p.m.," Murphy said.
Hotel portions of casinos and online gaming will remain open.
Other "non-essential" businesses not listed can remain open during the day if they make sure no more than 50 people are inside the establishment, and ensure people stay six feet apart. They must close by 8 p.m. each night.

Re: Life Under Coronavirus
My BJJ coach finally decided to close the gym today. I really feel for him. The last thing anyone wants to do in a pandemic is a grappling martial art, and these gyms are usually labors of love that aren't rolling in money (no pun intended). I've encouraged everyone I can to not cancel their membership on him.
I came into work today and was there for a few hours before they told me I'm non-essential personnel and I can go home (with pay), until further notice. I think me being there in my third trimester of pregnancy was making them especially nervous.
So husband is working from home and I'm at home with full pay on-call. I know we're very fortunate.
Told the kids now that we're all home, I will rule them with an iron fist.

Personally, I think I'm more afraid of Ms. Jack equipped with an iron fist than I am the virus.

Most people in my circle who had to cancel trips feel ripped off by this the same way as you do. A large percentage of them still got refunds on their travel packages. But I doubt that can last for long. I've noticed the airlines using a huge disclaimer that all sales are final lately.
Yeah, I'm not that confident we'll get to use a flight credit.
I don't care about the money so much. I'm feeling a slight tinge of self-pity because it's my wife's and my anniversary this week (one of the bigger ones). I hate that I feel it at all, given how our circumstances could be so much worse at a time like this.

But will you have anyone to buy your product if this goes on for 6 months?
We both work in what might be considered recession-proof industries, but I suppose we'll see just how bad it gets. I'm kind of mentally preparing myself to take a leave of absence to volunteer to help medical staffs if the system is overburdened.

Flu test negative. Infection control has been contacted to see if a corona test can be done, but that’s looking unlikely.
