I’d have figured that the DOJ would already know if there were grounds to do so based on conclusions of veracity from the earlier investigation just after the hearing. This only looks like red meat tossed to the Base as regards Blasey-Ford. And there doesn’t look like much to stick if they’re tossing this one at Avenatti. But you can see that it serves a certain purpose regardless.

If these conditions represent the new standards to use in initiating DOJ investigations, then their calendar could be filled for the next decade dealing with loony Trump tweets alone.

Yep, holding people accountable, enforcing the law equally and fairly across the board, total damned waste of government time and money. It's not like they are a law enforcement apparatus or anything. It's not like they have a duty to protect the integrity of the institution. Perjury. Nuisance accusations and lawsuits. An attempt to undermine the people's government and democracy itself. Big deal. Just an fun prank. Just a little fun at the expense of republicans. Those resources are obviously much better spent going after my political enemies, like Trump. He has to be guilty of something. Dig dig dig dig dig until you find something, anything, something! HUH? Are you effing kidding? This right here is what I'm talking about. Your view is so narrow. If Trump had done what she did, people would RIGHTLY be calling for his head. Her incompetence got people killed. KILLED. You let me know when Trump, or anyone in a leadership position, puts men in harms way, fails to support them, gets them killed, and then brazenly lies and engages in a CYA political coverup to protect their personal career rather than owning their responsibility as the captain of the damned ship. Hillary has no "right" to anything. We are a nation of hundreds of millions of people. She screwed up. People died. She has no right to political cover because she wants to be Maddam President. “F” her and Screw you for defending that evil bitch. This is personal to me because I served and know some of these people. They are my brothers. I didn't know anyone in Benghazi personally, but they were friends of friends of people I served with in the same community. And I personally have been in situations not so different from what happened in Benghazi. And no, it's not just Hillary. Plenty of screwed up crap went down overseas when Bush was in charge. This isn't about party politics.

We're talking about made up sexual assault allegations, straight perjury, calculatingly designed to undermine our constitution, and you're defending it! You're actually defending it. Even mocking it. "Haha, neener neener, good luck proving it!" This crosses a line where it's just not funny anymore. I don't care what party you affiliate with, or what economic philosophy you find the most persuasive. If you are willing to lie, cheat, and steal, to get your way, you are immoral and this sort of thing should be dealt with in the harshest of ways, in my opinion.
