For Carrie, my sweetheart.....

Darling Pretty

It's time to come away, my Darling Pretty
It's time to come away on the changing tide
Time to come away, Darling Pretty
And I need you darling by my side

Heal me with a smile, Darling Pretty
Heal me with a smile and a heart of gold
Carry me a while, my Darling Pretty
Heal my aching heart and soul

Just like a castaway
Lost upon an endless sea
I saw you far away
Come to rescue me

Cast away the chains, Darling Pretty
Cast away the chains away behind
Take away my pain, my Darling Pretty
And the chains that once were yours and mine

There will come a day, Darling Pretty
There will come a day when hearts can fly
Love will find a way, my Darling Pretty
Find a heaven for you and I
Love will find a way, my Darling Pretty
Find a heaven for you and I

Gather the kids around, its time for a Miley Cyrus video. She's dropped the whole Hannah Montana shtick and is stepping out as a real honest to goodness singer. Theres an official video that's actually quite good, but I'm choosing to show a live clip to showcase this young ladies real talent.

“Say Say Say” is a song by Michael Jackson and Paul McCartney. The track was written by the duo, and produced by George Martin for McCartney’s fifth solo album, Pipes of Peace (1983). The song was the pair’s second duet, following “The Girl Is Mine” for Jackson’s Thriller (1982). Recorded at the same time as McCartney’s Tug of War album, the single became Jackson’s seventh top ten hit in a year upon its release in October, 1983. “Say Say Say” was a number one hit in the US and peaked at number two in the UK. Number one in Canada, Finland, Italy, Norway and Sweden, the single peaked within the top ten of Austria and New Zealand.

Certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America, the song was promoted with a music video directed by Bob Giraldi. The video, filmed in Santa Ynez Valley, California, featured cameo appearances by Linda McCartney, and LaToya Jackson.

Heres the english lyrics:

Eyes Like Yours - Shakira

Oh, you know I have seen
a sky without sun
a man with no nation
Saints captive in chains
A song with no name
for lack of imagination

Yala hey ya hey yala hey
And I have seen
darker than ebony
Yala hey ya hey yala hey
And now it seems I
with out your eyes could never be

My one desire
All I aspire is in your eyes
forever to live
Traveled all over the seven oceans
There is nothing that I wouldn't give
Came from Bahrain
Got to Beriut
Looking for someone
comparing to you
Tearing down windows and doors
and I could not find eyes like yours

rabboussamai fikarrajaii
fi ainaiha aralhayati
ati ilaika min haza lkaaouni
arjouka labbi labbi nidai

Came from Bahrein
Got to Beriut
Looking for someone
comparing to you
Tearing down windows and doors
and I could not find eyes like yours

Oh, you know I have seen
A woman of means in rags
and begging for pleasure
Cross the river of salt
Just after I rode a ship that
sunk in the desert

Yala hey ya he yala hey
And I have seen
darker than ebony
Yala hey ya hey yala hey
And now it seems I without your eyes
Could never be

My one desire all I aspire
is in your eyes forever to live
Traveled all over
the seven oceans
there is nothing that I wouldn't give
Came from Bahrein
got to Beirut
Looking for some one comparing to you
Tearing down windows and doors and I could
not find eyes like yours

rabboussamai fikarrajaii
fi ainaiha aralhayati
ati ilaika min haza lkaaouni
arjouka labbi labbi nidai

Came from Bahrein

Looking for some one comparing to you
Tearing down windows and doors and I could

Great song. She does sing it in English, but I prefer to hear it in Spanish/Arabic; more seductive, romantic, and exotic.

Seven,

Great song, and the video was so cool. Took me a minute to figure out what was going on. Great message though.

I have to admit that I really didn't want to like this song, but I do. Good message too. My kids are crazy about it and shout at me to turn it up when it comes on. We have never allowed anything Hannah Montana in our home and they are begging now.

When I was searching for my favorite movie scenes the other day, I came across this one of Miley back when she was Destiny Cyrus. She was a little girl with a small part in the movie
"Big Fish."
