It just astonishes me that my grandfather was a registered Democrat. His views on personal responsibility and self reliance were the antithesis of the modern democratic party.

30 years ago, my father was as homophobic as they come. Today, not at all. Ajax, the fact that you can’t imagine your grandfather accepting certain things occurring in the present is more of a failure of your own imagination than anything else.

He might even be honest enough to acknowledge that Bernie Sanders is not a Marxist.

Imagine a Tang dynasty man not agreeing with Xi Ping’s policies... I wonder what your granpappy thought of the GOP.

Edited for additional thought: I notice Republicans love to hide behind this Ron Paul ideology of small government and libertarianism, except unlike Ron Paul the second it becomes even mildly inconvenient you, Ajax18, don't actually uphold any of the principles. You're really just looking for the state to protect you and stomp the boot on anyone who opposes you or whom you don't like.

We’ve pointed out you’re a huge fan of socialism and socialist policies that benefit you directly, so you’re not actually whatever it is you think you are outside of a racist and ethnosupremacist. WE neEd OuR oWn CouNTrY!

Not sure what you mean by this but no country would be better than the country we had when I started this thread.

If stomping our boots on those we disagree with is getting people back working and off welfare than I suppose Trump and all his supporters are ethnosupremacist or whatever you call it.

This old thread makes me remember just how bad things were and how far back to prosperity and rule of law Trump has brought us. In my view he has accomplished the impossible and I've never felt more optimistic for the USA than now.
And when the confederates saw Jackson standing fearless as a stone wall the army of Northern Virginia took courage and drove the federal army off their land.

Wearing your hood to the supermarket? If not reelected, I am wondering if Trump might refuse to vacate the White House

By that, do you mean comparing today versus when you started the thread?

Ajax vs. Ajax

Remember when Donald Trump said he would eliminate the federal debt in eight years? Pepperidge Farms remembers. The deficit has since risen by more than 16 percent under his presidency in three years.

But bottom line in your opinion, the debt should only be reduced by raising taxes or cutting military spending, never by cutting welfare spending or foreign aid. Anyone who votes for something different is an ethnocentric racist stomping their boot on those who don't want to work for a living.

Debt should be reduced by taxation and responsible government spending. Increasing military spending because we're addicted to foreign intervention is not responsible. Giving a tax windfall to corporations and the top 1% every time a Republican is elected because they have no other platform to run on, is not responsible.
