I did! At the same time you have GOP leaders lying about the reason Crooks shot Trump. The truth is we do not know, but they happily assign blame to Democrats for warning of Trump’s assault on democracy. His assault on democracy is obvious. He tried to overturn the last presidential election when he lost fair and square. There is no evidence that Crooks even voted in an election, though. So, we do not know whether Trump’s criminal assault on our election motivated the kid to shoot Trump. This just further cements my view that the GOP is reckless and dishonest.

It's sad and scary that event was so unpredictable. There seemed to be nothing in his past history and behavior that would have led anyone to predict this specific event by this specific individual. One could argue, I suppose, that the security procedures were not quite as airtight as they should have been, but it is not always possible to predict every possible contingency and identify and plug every possible gap with 100% success. I suspect we will never know precisely what motivated this young man to do what he did.

I am fairly certain about one thing, though. Trump and his Republican supporters will say and do anything they can think of to blame Biden and Democrats for what happened.
