Whiskey check this out. This is a former FBI agent who was interviewed by Brian Entin the other day. This new interview gives us insight with regard to the forensics investigation among other things. I really appreciated the behavior patterns of drug addicts that she describes. This lady is tough as nails.

Timestamped and ready to go! It'll start just before she comes on camera.

My cousin’s son died a couple months ago. He suffered from schizophrenia for the last ten years of his life. It was hell for his parents. They tried to have him live with them on two different locations, but both times he got too violent. There was no institutional support for them. We treat mentally ill people like crap in this country. I have nothing but compassion for the Reiners and view their deaths as a tragedy.

I have a cousin back East who is living with his twin sister. He was diagnosed years ago with schizophrenia like your cousin's son. I haven't heard any accounts of his becoming violent. I do know there was a span of time when he trialed a different medication that didn't require ongoing blood labs monitoring and became paranoid but not violent. He threw away all his ID cards, his dental bridge, and if memory serves the shower curtain, into the big trash dumpster behind the building. Shortly after the incident, he was put back on the med that required monitoring. He does well with it and was able to return to his work which is a program where the participants learn life skills and even go into the community to work.

When I visited some years back he was friendly as ever, affect a bit low, but I tell you, when I hear about his comments about other siblings, he hits the nail right on the head! When his sister and I have a chance to speak on the phone I always make sure I get to talk to him, too. I never want him to feel forgotten.

I cannot imagine the absolute hell that your cousin's son went through himself or his parents who I am sure did the very best they could and likely with not many resources to rely on. High profile cases like the Reiner's raise the issue of mental illness and yet, we as a society fail them. When an incident like this has faded we stuff the issue back into the societal closet until the next one and do nothing to improve delivery of services in between.

Good lord. Seems like a lot of premeditation.

This trial is going to be nuts.
Ban Whiskey permanently if that's the only way.

It's going to be nuts for sure. Probably tons of "experts" will testify as well as family, friends, coworkers, etc.

I found her description of various scenarios extremely interesting. The trial likely won't happen for at least a year if not longer. What I look for next (besides the arraignment--I think that was Jan 7th?) is for the DA to drop the discovery because that will detail the evidence and outline the theory of the crime. How it happened and what proves it, etc. I hope it's not redacted beyond all recognition.

If you saw the video of him inside a convenience store, I just want to point out that anywhere you go in a city or town that video cameras are on you the whole entire time. They'll put that all together I am sure. If he carried a cell phone, it'll be the same thing since cell phones serve as tracking devices.

What a world, right?
