In the face of madness, rationality has no power - Xiao Wang, US historiographer, 2287 AD.

Every record...falsified, every book rewritten...every statue...has been renamed or torn down, every date...altered...the process is continuing...minute by minute. History has stopped. Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Ideology is always right.

The irony being, of course, that you post that in this thread, with intent to attack the messenger (Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez).

Do you possess any capacity for self-awareness?

It's so unfair to use the word 'butthurt' in reference to subgenius.

That's his word. You have no right to play with it. Put it down, or you'll make him cry.

That's the problem with this supernatural stuff, it doesn't really solve anything. It's a placeholder for ignorance.

For someone who is supposed to be this young, silly little ignorant girl fresh out of college, she sure does seem to know a lot more than most folks in the GOP. Here she is taking down Steve Scalise:

Image

You just know these idiots on the Right are going to be having meltdowns based on their own ignorance over what it means to have a 70% marginal tax rate.

It means only 16,000 people in the country will be affected by this, and the 70% is only applied to everything they make over $10,000,000/ year.

Who would pay higher taxes if Ocasio-Cortez’s ideas somehow become a reality? Data cited by the Washington Post indicates that as of 2016, only 16,000 tax filers — or 0.5% of U.S. households — had income over $10 million. So if a 70% tax rate was applied to households with income over $10 million as Ocasio-Cortez seems to be suggesting, it might affect less than 1% of households.

As Krugman put it, the main reason to consider a significantly higher marginal tax rate like the one suggested by Ocasio-Cortez is that America “did just fine” economically during the decades when such tax rates were in effect, and that “a policy that makes the rich a bit poorer will affect only a handful of people, and will barely affect their life satisfaction.”

What exactly has Anastasia Cortez Ocassional done, in her past, that has impressed folks here? Exactly what are her professional accomplishments.

Just trying to calibrate the cerebral level here!

She will get on the job training. It is amusing to see how Fox reacted to her video where she was seen dancing. She was having fun at college. Was there a problem with that? I think the comments by many to her video was "She is hot"
Hilary Clinton " I won the places that represent two-thirds of America's GDP.I won in places are optimistic diverse, dynamic, moving forward"

Don't you folks just love the irony here.

We were told Donald Trump, who grew up from privilege, won the election that meant he was a winner by default! It was a huge notch in his belt of success and nothing in his past really mattered any more. All the lawsuits, the sexual assault allegations, the defrauding of Americans, the racist sentiments, etc.

However, when a minority woman epitomizes the American dream, working in a bar to help support her family becomes the youngest woman ever elected to Congress just a year later, those same folks praising Trump suddenly scoff at Cortez and now demand to know what she has accomplished in life.

Well, you're looking at it idiots. She isn't just the youngest person elected she is also taking airtime from our moron in chief, proving she is probably the most relatable politician in history.

As far as her education goes, this is what Wiki says:

Ocasio-Cortez was born in the Bronx, New York City, on October 13, 1989, to Blanca Ocasio-Cortez (née Cortez) and Sergio Ocasio. Her father, an architect of Puerto Rican descent, was born in the Bronx, while her mother was born in Puerto Rico. Until age five, Ocasio-Cortez lived with her family in an apartment in the neighborhood of Parkchester. The family then moved to a house in Yorktown Heights, a suburb in Westchester County. Growing up, Ocasio-Cortez regularly visited her extended family in the Bronx.

Ocasio-Cortez attended Yorktown High School, graduating in 2007, where she won second prize in the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair with a microbiology research project on the effect of antioxidants on C. elegans' lifespan. As a result, the International Astronomical Union named a small asteroid after her: 23238 Ocasio-Cortez. In high school, she took part in the National Hispanic Institute's Lorenzo de Zavala (LDZ) Youth Legislative Session. She later became the LDZ Secretary of State while she attended Boston University. Ocasio-Cortez had a John F. Lopez Fellowship. In 2008, while Ocasio-Cortez was a sophomore at Boston University, her father died of lung cancer. During college, she was an intern in the immigration office of U.S. Senator Ted Kennedy. She graduated cum laude from Boston University's College of Arts and Sciences in 2011 with a bachelor's degree in international relations and a minor in economics.

Ocasio-Cortez has described her background as working-class, and relates many of her political positions to it. When her father died intestate in 2008, she became involved in a long probate battle to settle his estate. She has said that the experience helped her learn "firsthand how attorneys appointed by the court to administer an estate can enrich themselves at the expense of the families struggling to make sense of the bureaucracy".

Meanwhile, guess what all these politicians have in common.

Steve King (R) - Iowa
Bill Posey (R)- Florida
Bob Gibbs (R) - Ohio
Troy Balderson (R)- Ohio
Mark Meadows (R)- North Carolina
Mike Bost (R) - Illinois
Garret Graves (R) - Louisiana
Clay Higgins (R) - Louisiana
Lloyd Smucker (R) - Pennsylvania
Gov. Scott Walker (R) - Wisconsin

They're all college drop outs. Another two dozen Republicans think they have a degree because they bought it online, or went to some Theology school for a two year stint to get their "doctorate" in religion. Where is bach's concern that we have so many unqualified representatives? Oh, he's not, because they're all rich white men with an (R) after their name.

I'm sure you think they were all far more qualified and accomplished at age 29 than this woman is.
