Markk is not a bad person. I think he really believes we have the president he was hoping Trump would be. This is a hard moment for conservatives. I would love to see John Kasich trade places with Trump overnight. And I don't love Kasich by any means.

Go back and read my posts when Trump got elected...he was not even close t being my choice...in fact my choice was John Kasich.

My point on this thread started out stating that there is no way a parade would cost billions of dollars...which folks were actually buying here.

It morphed into where we are now. You and others here are fixated and embellishing everything this guy does, when in fact he is just another lying politician...no worse, and obviously others believe better than the other choices we had, or he would not be elected.

The Russian thing is a joke...after all this there is absolutely no evidence he colluded with the Russians...and know after one statement from him about a parade for the military...you're making him out to be a third world dictator in uniform.

Like the right was on Bill Clinton during the Monica thing...it won't stop...I can only imagine if social media was then what it is now.

I hope as I get older I am more of a pragmatist. In the end, unless we have major issues with a North Korea, he will most likely be a 1 term president and the pundents, and their clone nations, will move on to their next target...just like they did with WJC, GWB, Obama, and now Trump.

Well Markk, you're embracing this man instead of the intelligence agencies and other parts of established government. Yeah, the threat of Russia is a joke, sez you, so ignore professionals with actual data, actual experience, who have actually laid their lives on the line for their country and to develop skills. Not pampered elitists with "bone spurs" and loyalty to their own fortunes. A guy who says he is greater than Washington and Jefferson. And you're defending that, and changing the subject a thousand times to get away from it. Nope.

Of course we're watching what he does. He keeps doing stupid stuff and putting us all at risk. He keeps attacking MY government and cuddling up to enemies of America. Or do you suddenly think the Russians are our buddies? How naïve are you?

Gee, guess what, Markk? We're Americans. We get to criticize the president. Does that hurt you? Inconvenience you? No, but it makes you really unhappy. Suck it up, cupcake. You're riding the bull in the china closet. Own it.

What's surreal about listening to Drumpf supporters whine about how he can't do anything that people won't criticize is that I haven't forgotten how they talked about Obama. I can't help think they say this crap knowing full well how outrageously hypocritical it is. The phrase Thanks Obama actually became a thing to mock Republicans reflexively blaming Obama for everything.

And Obama wasn't a criminal/traitor/sexual harasser/conman/pathological liar/idiot/braggart/insecure child.

What you'll accept and defend in a leader says a lot about your own character.

I think it's hilarious what triggered emo snowflakes these rightwingers are. They go into total meltdown when someone denies them something or even questions them.

Boy...

The threat of Russia has always been. They have been meddling in our elections since post WW2, or before. But it seems folks here, and the Obama administration certainly did not know that.

You can certainly speculate that Trump personally colluded...and project theories...but so far the only viable collusion of any kind that I know of was Clinton/DNC against Sanders. If Trump is found to have personally colluded, he should go to jail, but in my opinion, lets wait until that is proven before we convict him, and I believe so far the investigators have stated he did not collude.

How you got what you wrote out of my last post is beyond me mak.

They have had little ability in the past to have real influence on western elections. That has changed and represents a real threat to modern democracies. Putin and his cronies have been very active all around the world and are having noticeable affects. Considering how close the last election was it is reasonable to think they had enough influence to change the outcome of that election. That has never happening in US history from and enemy state. It's a very serious problem democracies face today.

I think you need to distinguish between Russian influence in the form of social media manipulation, which is really hard to quantify and plausibly has very little impact, and Russian influence in the form of criminal hacking of Democrat emails, laundering them through wikileaks, and generating massive amounts of negative Clinton coverage before the political conventions and in the last month leading into election day.

The crazy thing about those hacks is that they didn't really reveal anything all that damning. The most damaging part is how the media covered them, not the hacks themselves. That makes it harder to know how much we should attribute that to Russia. All Russia did was exploit a fault in our native media systems. That it was a major issue in the election is obvious, though. It is annoying to watch some media outlets who covered those hacks breathlessly and endlessly turn around and pretend like they didn't mean anything.

This is simply false. That has never occurred. You are repeating a lie that has been constantly shared within the right-wing media bubble. Does it not give you a little pause to know that you're being lied to about something so basic?

I doubt. If it tells him what he wants to hear, he's all over it.

It's so weird listening to right-wingers talk about Drumpf like he's no big deal after listening to them talk about sky falling under Obama. They just let themselves be led by the nose from the likes of Fox News.

They could actually listen to Drumpf himself and determine the kind of person he is, but I'm not sure that would matter. They seem to lack the ability to adequately judge character. Astounding.

I don't know if anyone watched the Oprah thing recently where she had 14 people from Michigan talking about Drumpf's first year in office (among other things). One of the Drumpf supporters said he likes him because "he talks like us." I thought, I'd kill myself if I thought I sounded like that moron - you actually want to admit that?

There's a whole lot that's beyond you, Markk. That's because you don't bother to read. You started inserting crap in people's mouths before they're done talking. Did I say Trump personally colluded? You're having an argument with yourself. And I'm the problem?

Hey, if your stubbornness and ego require denial of reality, don't expect sympathy from me. I'll just tell you to grow up and become an American. Leave the petty parties behind. Stand for the Constitution, not the libs or cons. Your man is a disaster. I thought you were better than someone who'd lie for a demagogue, but here we are. I hope your fever breaks soon.
