Remember how hilarious it was when Rush Limbaugh called feminists “feminazis?” And not just once. Remember when conservatives rose up and in a single voice said “stop that — its dehumanizing!”
It's funny/sad how one-sided all this is.

I've never heard anyone on the left say stuff like, "We voted for Kamala because we were sick of being called bleeding hearts, progressives, the enemy within, leftist terrorists, antifa, and all the other crap right-wingers call us! Wake up!"

And the reason we never hear that is because even if they are offended by those labels, they would never base their vote off of petty, childish resentment of the other side. They aren't idiotic, immature babies. Nobody worries how the left will react to anything because they're mostly grownups, but people will pay for security on the off-chance some lunatic right-winger is offended by, well, anything.

Basically, MAGA is the political version of a controlling, abusive husband who likes to say things like, "Why do you make me beat you like this?" They're screwed up, character-disordered, irresponsible, emotionally stunted children. At least, that's how a lot of them act (like we see on this forum).
Authoritarian mass movements have traits in common with abusive personalities: gaslighting, humiliation, DARVO, etc. But there is, I think, an importance. With an abuser, we’re talking about an individual personality. With mass movements, we’re talking about a group personality that replaces the individual personality. If you’ve witnessed a friend or family member become a different person as members of the MAGA movement, I think that’s what you’ve seen. They don’t act like themselves because a group self has replaced their individual self, at least for the duration of the mass movement.

The group personality is modeled on the strongman. He gives the members permission to speak and act with abject cruelty toward others. That’s why one cannot appeal to their initial morals or religious beliefs. Those have been overridden by the group morals and beliefs.

When it comes time for Trump to call on the military to help beat the citizen populace into submission and declare him to be the Supreme Fuehrer, what will the military do?

I asked this same question several years ago, and Doc Cam said they would always remain faithful to the USA. Much has happened since then. Will they maintain their Semper Fidelis attitude or start to goose step in Trump's direction?

Oh FFS.

Could be. I suppose. And, it is equally likely that [if] you’ve witnessed a friend or family member become a different person as members of [liberal progressive BS], I think that’s what you’ve seen.

Res, do you really think that any of this is unique to MAGA? You don't think families and friendships have been torn to crap when someone goes crazy crazy for every whackadoodle DEI shenanigan and affinity group or identity trend?

Lol, no. How would that work? : D

Sometimes you should stop and think about what you’re going to reflexively blurt out in your efforts to be contrary and make excuses for MAGA, before you get to the blurting out part.

Never happened. I've never had a DEI truck or some other kind of decked out vehicle celebrating DEI try to run me off the road. Aside from the latest tragedy at the hands of a Trump truck, I've personally had several close calls with Trump trucks. I do try to stay out of their way, understanding how sensitive these people are.

The last time was about a month ago at a Chipotle's parking lot. I'm about to leave and here comes this ultra jacked up GMC with flags airbrushed on the back window. This guy comes screaming into this tight lot, yep, he's headed my way, rounds the corner -- it a big U turn to get into the restaurant lot -- and as I'm pulling tight to the right hoping to squeeze by, this guy guns it and misses me by inches. And why is it that your boys with these impractical vehicles always back into their space? It was like a 20-point process for this idiot to get his truck that's depreciating by 10$ a minute to fit okay into two spaces.

If you were there, you'd be jumping out of your Lambo to yell at me and tell me to have some consideration for a patriot. Then you'd walk up to that guy and tell him how impressed you are with his good taste and all the prosperity you're enjoying in the new regime. You'd probably have a good laugh and hope that ICE shows up to raid the restaurant and how cool would it be to share a moment like that with your new patriot buddy?

My Lamborghinis don't have an in to jump out of. Though, jumping off one is normal.

Excellent points, RI.

I've been watching these Elephant Graveyard videos, and I think they are smart, funny distillations of the cult mentality going on within the MAGA mind-screwed community and more specifically the Joe Rogan cult behavior currently messing up our country (emphasis on funny. Whoever is writing and producing these videos is a brilliant guy). Your point about "The group personality is modeled on the strongman" is superbly distilled in these videos.
Religion is for people whose existential fear is greater than their common sense. It's also the favored cover for hypocrites.

The god idea is popular with desperate people.

There are at least those hippy cars. Never been run off the road by one, though.

Good point. And thank god there is no amount of virtue signaling with electric cars and electric car charging and electric car parking and electric cars in the HIV lane.

And no virtue signaling to fund electric car charging.

“F” it. I can't even fake it. I hope coal rolls through your town from a 7.3 flatbed on semi tires.
