Here is the only Japanese song to reach the top of the American Hit Parade. Kyu was the first Asian recording artist to score a #1 hit in the U.S. charts when Sukiyaki (Ue o (Muite Arukou), claimed the top spot in June, 1963, selling over 13 million copies. I love this simple song and it's unpretentiousness... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C35DrtPlUbc

I will now share some Childhood TV show memories that I watched as a Little Nipper. TV was once more about the children and seemed far less about people who didn't wish to grow up and mature...
This rare clip is concerns Romper Room. One of my earliest TV memories: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B0aFlgq48AU

Even before Romper Room, I remember watching this show. I remember the introduction song. Apart from parents, I would consider her my earliest recollection of a school teacher. And yes, many teachers of this era actually dress like this... https://archive.org/details/dingdongschool

I was caught on camera as a tyke scribbling on drawing pad during Uncle Roscoe's Playtime Party. https://news.google.com/newspapers?nid=336&dat=19770622&id=o61YAAAAIBAJ&sjid=d38DAAAAIBAJ&pg=7090,5886504&hl=en

The HMS Titanic sailed from Southampton England at 12 PM GMT on 10 April 1912 to sink in the cold Atlantic on April 15. Here is the popular tune of the era that was sung in the movie TITANIC. I have this on an Edison Blue Amberol cylinder record from 1911...... Ada Jones and Billy Murray sing this duet. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3puIUukno9A

This is an astounding film. It was filmed April 14th 1906 ---- just 4 days prior to the earthquake and fire that would destroy much of San Francisco. This copy comes with sound effects. The camera was mounted on the front of a cable car, and takes us for a journey down Market St; as well as, back in time to a real place with real people going about their routine, long gone but not forgotten... So sit back and observe ordinary people as they head unknowingly towards one of the greatest natural disasters of the modern day. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Q5Nur642BU

I've often been quick to judge - especially when it comes to when someone has hurt someone else. But I'm coming to realize that all of us have similar human potential - for good or bad.

Some prisons are beginning to establish programs like choirs to help inmates transition from prison to life in the real world.

Conducting Hope tells the inspiring story of the East Hills Singers at Lansing Correctional Facility in Kansas
"Run by the nonprofit organization, Arts in Prison, Inc., the choir is also comprised in part by volunteer community members who serve as role models as well as former inmates who continue to sing with the choir after release. The film movingly portrays how this group of present and former prisoners, together with the community volunteers, can forge a successful path back into society."
