I'll probably pick it up in a bit. I've learned that if I stay behind the latest technology curve and buy games 6-12 months after they release I only spend about half as much money, get better and more complete reviews of games, and most bugs are patched.

Not EVE. EVE has a tutorial that's designed based on an obscure sadist training manual by the Marquis de Sade that takes perverse delight in tormenting you with seemingly easy tasks like "shoot this bit" or "mine this rock" shortly before pouring boiling pitch on your genitals and punching you in the neck. And that's before you even get into the real game.
That had me laughing hard.

I just picked up NHL '09 for the PS3. It is amazingly good. I either play as the Sharks or the Avalanche. I'm still working on finding all the secrets on Bionic Commando Rearmed. The new Star Wars game comes out this week. I played the demo and it was pretty fun. I'm easily entertained.

I just got the new Star Wars game. It's called The Force Unleashed. I'll let you know what I think of it after I've played it for a bit.

I remember losing many hours of my pubescent-acne-ridden-stinky-retainer life playing Bionic Commando on Nintendo. Good memories…

I'm taking this POS back to Gamestop, trading it in, and getting something else. It was a let down in every way imaginable. The graphics were subpar for what was promised, especially considering what the 360 is capable of. The destructible environments weren't really destructible so much as it was crappy scripted bits that fall off random objects if you look at them funny and then fade away in seconds. Oh, and I actually had to reset my 360 twice to get the damned game to load correctly. Yet another crappy, rushed to console, over-hyped Star Wars game...
Save your money. This game's a rental.

I totally agree with you. I played through the introductory level, where you get to be Darth Vader, and the first level in the Tie Fighter factory. Controlling Darth Vader is like walking through deep mud until you hit the jump button and then he's bouncing around like a frog. Every movement feels a bit glitchy, especially when you're swinging the lightsaber. When you use the force to throw huge boulders they don't seem to have any weight, bouncing around like fake foam props. The apprentice controls much better than Darth Vader but he still jumps around like a monkey. The level design seems extremely linear. The force powers are okay...you get to pick up storm troopers and watch them flail around in the air before you launch them against a wall, into a Tie Fighter, into another group of storm troopers, or off a ledge. Even so, I prefer just running around and hacking with the lightsaber. This kinda sucks though, because when you kill someone, their body disappears after a few seconds. I need time to revel in my carnage. I want to leave piles of troopers in my wake, but they keep disappearing. Anytime a big event occurs, an explosion or something, the framerate drops and stutters. This is inexcusable. I haven't had any problems with the game freezing up yet, but I have seen some crazy graphical glitches like walls and floors turning into empty space. I'm going to see if I can beat this in the next couple of nights and then I'm selling it to GameStop. I bet they'll have piles of used copies by early next week.

Dang. Guess I'll pass on it. I was hoping this would be the third decent Star Wars game ever. Maybe next time......

You need to get this new version. It's genius.
