I think I won't be cared for because I'm an adult man. Being a WASP doesn't help but I see a lot of adult black men who get no care once they reach 18 every day. It hits them hard when they realize the world no longer cares about them. They were under the assumption that healthcare was a right and would always be free since they always got it free before they turned 18. That's the way the country views it now. There's no reason to believe we won't come last when medicaid is expanded or in other words socialized medicine for all citizens of the world, well unmarried female citizens with children to be more accurate.
I see ridiculous and unnecessary procedures performed on kids for the simple reason that the parents know it's free. Sometimes I think the reason they bring them is to get some free babysitting for the the 2 or 3 hours we spend with them. And that line, it's for the children is what controls peoples hearts. Whether it's necessary or even effective plays no role in medicaids decision to provide it. If forced to do so, people can and do make more prudent choices about their own healthcare than any command economy could ever hope to do.
They take care of everyone in England huh? Let me assure you that socialism will not, nor can it even possibly take care of everyone. You think there are racial tensions now? You think there is generational warfare now? I promise you that socialism will make that worse because one voting block is going to get the screw as a principal of politics. In a way a free market place protected minorities better. Black money was just as good as white money. It didn't matter if you were from a minority group or majority group, you still had the same insurance policy. Wait until you start seeing the biases and racist tendencies of those chosen to pass out the goods demonstrated on a broad screen. I assure you that everyone will not be taken care of equally.
