There is so much to unpack here that I'm not sure where to start.
The first of course being that if you really believed it should just be about "what the people want" you'd have to grapple with the idea that Trump lost the popular vote.
Second, if you had read the linked thread, you would note that EA's line of argument is that in the current system voting weight is not evenly distributed across all states (this probably is okay with you, since it favors Republicans at this point). That reads more as wanting to to empower voters in having a say, not take it away.
Third the comment you quoted directly was more of just a factual statement of how the EC was originally designed, not really a value statement on that setup.
Fourth, that you think the factual comment of an anonymous poster on this board is more dangerous to our democracy than a sitting president who seems to be
bumbling his way into authoritarianism is quite telling.
