We don't need to know if there is a conspiracy theory. It's a fact that Trump is a danger to democracy by attacking the free press, wanting to turn the state against his personal enemies, and circumventing law. Russia is manipulating the American people to sow discord and disrupt democratic processes. Trump wants to set a standard that demands Mueller prove a conspiracy to collude with his and Putin's signature on a piece of paper. That's a false standard.

The call is to defend democracy. That means defending it's core values and principals from the attacks that would make us distrust the institutions that provide facts, enable the electorate to participate as informed citizens, and otherwise demand accountability from our elected leadership.

It provides a credible preview to the Government's case against Trump, a case that had its beginnings in 2013 and eventually grew to include what one can only designate as high treason.

The first interview was interesting and I thought does a reasonable job of defending the intelligence community's methods, while also pointing out that we ought to be very vigilant this mid-term election cycle given the foreign interest in further election tampering. I do think he tried to draw a line between what were known facts and the speculation Maher was pushing him towards regarding Trump's ultimate motive in the Russia collusion case but Maher got what he wanted to make his show all the more entertaining.

I still think the better discussion was between the initial panel members regarding why Trump's easily observable attacks on the media and institutions of democracy are alarming, and should be motivating by themselves to get people up and to the polls come November. We don't have to speculate on whether Trump does not value a free press or understands how the Constitution works. He reminds of his ignorance or malice towards them daily via Twitter.

Did any of you listen to Nunes giving a speech at a fund raiser where he said they wanted to impeach Rosenstein but that would take up the time for the new Judge. If they lose their majority they cannot impeach and since the Senate requires 2/3 vote that won't happen. ust hope corrupt does a party have to be before you kick them out?

For what it is worth, Nancy MacLean is a habitually dishonest crackpot. In some ways, I like the existence of her and her kissing-cousin Naomi Klein, as it demonstrates that mainstream liberalism isn't completely devoid of this kind of conspiracy mongering that is so much more prevalent in mainstream conservatism.

This rings true for me, although I know practically nothing about her, so I wouldn't make the same claim definitively. When I saw her on Real Time, though, she struck me as a little off. The Koch's are critical of Drumpf to disguise their secret plot with him? Hmmmm...
