House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy tried to master all of his eloquence in defense of a position that he was actually afraid to articulate:
Kevin McCarthy wrote:This is the moment that history will write. History will ask you when you cast this vote, when you cast a vote to justify something that has gone on behind closed doors, I want you to ask the historian and answer the question: What do you know that happened there?
TrumpSpeak seems to be infecting the GOP. While McCarthy's brain retains the ability to assemble words that have been used eloquently in prior speeches, those words are stitched together for Trump's defense without having any hope of making a logical point.
A friend of mine is sits on several Doctoral committees. Some people, who through dogged determination have eeked out a Masters degree, think they can write a doctoral thesis. Occasionally she will read me one of the sentences from one of her more inept students. His speech is a lot like that. The Grandiloquence of Planet of the Clueless.
