If you get covid-19, you will have to show it was caused by this delivery guy not wearing his mask which will be difficult if not impossible to do. Masks cannot prevent transmission, only slow it down. Also, the virus survives on surfaces for a time. So, Lowes attorneys and experts will be able to raise the question of exactly where you got the virus, claiming it could have come from anywhere, making the case really difficult.

I hope you don't get it and don't have to consider going down that path of suing Lowes.

I have no physical proof that he wasn't wearing a mask. All I have is my word. I feel perfectly fine so I don't think I was exposed. It's a good heads up for when we have anyone over again (like I plan to hire a painter for an interior room or two) to make sure I make it crystal clear that masks will be worn by anyone inside the house.

In your OP you started down the road of wondering about doing things differently with some hindsight. The rest of the thread is about whether or not you might be losing the ability to sue Lowes if you accept a refund on the service fee then get COVID, as well as people in general not wearing masks.

My charitable view of this is you started the thread thinking about things over which you have control.

Did you want to ask me what happened just before my husband let the guy in? My OP was sharing the gist of what took place and the rest of the post was posing a question about legalities.

Thanks, Res,.it's nice to see you as well. Life has been busy, and there wasn't much to talk about here. Plus, it's been a while since I have DMd a game and had a campaign to create for my daughter and her friends. So, priorities I guess.

Yes. I do whatever I feel compelled to do. Example. If I started a message board I'd feel compelled to set it up with a crew of back up techs so it wouldn't go to sh-it right under my nose and probably make sure I owned the thing.

If I had as much money as you I would've done precisely that.

I think this is a pretty salient point, Jersey Girl. I don't think you can claim too much offence to this dude not wearing a mask in your house if you aren't doing it knowing they're coming in.

It just goes to my earlier point (and yours too) that we can all be pretty absent minded about our current mask situation.

I think this is a pretty salient point, Jersey Girl. I don't think you can claim too much offence to this dude not wearing a mask in your house if you aren't doing it knowing they're coming in.

The team was supposed to call before they arrived. They did not. I was asleep when they got here. My husband called to me that they were already here. I went directly to the kitchen to start unloading food at the same time he opened the door to let #1 inside. Had I had the call, I would have been awake and ready for them to come inside because it's usually me that checks everything and prepares. Like I said in the OP I was already in the middle of it when I noticed #2 didn't have a mask.

I could have told hubs to make them wait and hope that he heard me. He can't hear me from like 3 feet away. I wasn't absent minded. I was half asleep.

So yeah. Thanks for the debate though. I really appreciate it.
