The debate commission is considering how to change the rules in order to minimize interruptions and have a more issue-driven conversation. I have an idea on how the rules can be changed that would foster a more orderly conversation or at a very minimum, make the debate more interesting:

The first time a candidate interrupts his opponent he is fitted with a shock collar. Every subsequent time he interrupts, he is immediately shocked.

I'd watch that.
You, me, and 300 million people would watch that. It has my vote.

If Trump wants to yell loudly while his microphone is off and Biden is speaking, he will look even more like a bloviating bully. He may want to destroy Biden's chances of speaking without cross-talk, but don't make it easier by leaving his mike on when it's Biden's turn to speak.
I agree. Nothing would make him seem more like a bloviating bully than that. That would work even better to Trump's disadvantage than having a virtual, zoom type debate where the audio feed could be completely cut off from whichever candidate who tried to speak out of turn.

I still like the idea of the shock collar, though, but we know that neither candidate would go along with that -- especially not Trump.

A Question for Diehard Trump Supporters.

Do you actually still think that Trump is not an incorrigible, pathological liar, or do you just not care that he is? If the latter is the case, what does that say about you? Either way, what does it say about you?

I challenge anyone to watch this video, and still claim with a straight face that Trump is not an incorrigible liar.

Keilar rolls the tape on Trump's 'I hardly know him' defense.

I don't think the Republican party should agree to any more debates with biased moderators. Chris Wallace's questions were absolutely awful and the reason Trump couldn't wait to let Biden hang himself was because Wallace was always there to bail him out. If you consider Wallace unbiased I can't even imagine how much left leaning bias the next moderators will have.

Mitt Romney was about as milk toast a human being as they come. The same media that feigns outrage over this debate started this kind of nastiness in our politics by how they treated Mitt Romney, George Bush, and John McCain. They harped on Mitt cutting a gay kids hair 50 years ago, accidentally leaving the family dog on the roof, and then Biden says Mitt wants to put black people back in chains. You know what happens when you sink to that level of nastiness? This is what happens. You get a tabloid brawler because that's what it takes to deal with the biased media and still get the message out and speak for the forgotten man.

That debate accomplished nothing and as long as the moderator is left of center, this is the result you're going to get. I think both sides realize that the time for debates is over. If anyone on the left wants to consider submitting to a debate with Sean Hannity moderating and controlling the mute button than I'd be game for that, but until then I don't think any Republican candidate should agree to a debate where a leftist moderator helps gang up on the Republican candidate.
And when the confederates saw Jackson standing fearless as a stone wall the army of Northern Virginia took courage and drove the federal army off their land.

Really. Does he not work for a conservative media? I suppose when one is extreme right almost everyone looks liberal.

So you admit Trump behaved bad, but blame it on others. LOL Trump has been an asshole person long before he ever ran for president.

Interesting feedback from one of my LDS neighbors who is an ardent Trump supporter: He thinks Trump's horrendously offensive behavior in the Presidential debate will cost him the election.

If only the public did not have such a short memory. November 3 is a lifetime away in our modern news cycle.

This is like someone going to Burger King and ordering breakfast sandwich, feeling stomach pain that night, and declaring, "I think Burger King might go under if it keeps selling food like this." No. It won't.

One thing the Trump admin has taught us is that some people willingly and eagerly eat sh-it. It's his base's daily diet.
