Just catching up on 538s coverage and I thought this little nugget was interesting.

That last one seems like an implausible if. I just do not see the give a damn's necessary for this, but I have no connection to VA other than VAMike and a few friends who do not give a damn. Advantage McAuliffe.

Atlanticmike, give us your prediction.
I am going with McAuliffe by Friday.

At 18 percent, McAuliffe is whoopin ass.

Keep in mind it isn't the total votes that has to match 2020, just the distribution. The first two points are the truly difficult asks. I just thought it was interesting to highlight the uphill nature of a R win.

Do not pay any mind to the vote counts right now, far too little reporting to know what is what. Don't be like the TV dummies that made hay over an early Biden lead in Texas. Let the results come in, drink some beer. Wake up tomorrow with actual numbers.

McAuliffe early returns.... 66% of the Votes by Mail. Holy hell. This is like watching reruns of Seinfeld.
CNN just declared Stacey Abrams the winner of the VA Governor election. Weird.

I don't know about the rest of the state but here in the 7 cities we really haven't "suffered" enough for Democrats to think about voting for a Republican in my opinion. And that's a good thing! We've done fairly good through covid and the military presence always helps with our local economy. Also, there's absolutely no way northern Virginia will ever vote republican again and that's the area that actually matters the most. Central and the west part of Virginia just doesn't have the population density to even come close to making a difference and that's unfortunately where all the republican votes come from.Cultellus wrote: ↑Tue Nov 02, 2021 11:38 pmAtlanticmike wrote: ↑Tue Nov 02, 2021 11:31 pm
