I agree that the shooter and/or whoever conspired with or motivated him to attempt this had to be incredibly stupid to think that this would somehow help Biden's and the Democrats' chances to win in November, whether or not the assassination attempt succeeded. I think it more likely that the shooter had a personal vendetta against Trump himself and couldn't care less about what other consequences might result from it. Also, more likely than a motivation to ensure Biden's election, is a determination to damage to damage the entire country and the democratic process itself, regardless of which political parties would be hurt most by it. I think those are the 2 likeliest motivations behind this. Either a personal vendetta against Trump himself, regardless of whom else gets hurt, or a terrorist act by some entity, either foreign or domestic, who wants to hurt the entire nation and what we stand for.

I hope that the least likely motivation for this act was an attempt by MAGA to stage a false flag scenario in order to blame Biden and the Democrats for the attempt. Can we safely rule that out? I hope so!

It is frankly bizarre. At the very least the chickens are coming home to roost. We turned our culture into marketing and vulgar entertainment. Trump fits the bill. He’s a distillation of the vulgarity and mediocrity we have to offer. That’s one reason he is irresistible to many. But, you got to give him props, he knew instinctively how best to exploit the opportunity of the assassination attempt in a dangerous way.

I don't believe in that kind of fatalism. The only reason, in my opinion, that Trump is so highly predicted to win is not because Trump is a strong candidate. It's because Biden is the weakest Presidential candidate we've ever seen. And I mean weak in every sense of the word - the man is not physically capable of holding the office any longer.

Americans are yearning, begging, dying for a 3rd option and the Democratic party holds the power to provide it.
