When that really bad tornado came through here years back, I was working in the hospital. We had two different local news stations on two TVs in hospital rooms across the hall from one another. Both meteorologists said the tornado is heading for downtown Ms. Nobody’s city. It was at that moment, I had the thought that Jesus rested in the boat, and I was going to have to rest in the boat too. That’s when I walked away from watching the local weather, and just hung out with the patients in the hallway on the 4th floor of the hospital. It hit several miles away and was devastating.

Rest in the boat, Jersey.
Thank you for the reminder! I walk away from it a LOT.

Rest in the boat...I will do my best!

It's incredible that some diehard Maga-Ites are actually promoting the conspiracy that liberals and Democrats actually have and are using the power to directly create and direct these storms at Republican areas to hurt and even kill their perceived political enemies,
Let's hope the MAGAs do not resort to cannibalism now that their leader has praised Hannibal Lecter. Can you imagine eating a Democrat with a bottle of Mad Dog 20/20 and a can of Hominy?

I wish you the best as well. Thanks for the update! I hope and wish that these disasters will become the wake-up call that convinces anti-scientific diehards that the climate change scientists' warnings are real and urgent. It's incredible that some diehard Maga-Ites are actually promoting the conspiracy that liberals and Democrats actually have and are using the power to directly create and direct these storms at Republican areas to hurt and even kill their perceived political enemies,
The storm landed further south than originally predicted, and we were hardly touched by any bad weather, thankfully. I can’t fathom anyone spreading conspiracy theories about
people controlling the weather. It’s insanity.

Thanks for the good wishes!

Thank you for the update on Steven. I was hoping he’d be able to evacuate to a safer place. Our family had a family reunion planned in Orlando for Wednesday. Our older daughter will be weathering the storm in Orlando and younger daughter in Brooksville (a bit of anxiousness there). Hubs and I wound up in Orange Beach, AL for a few days instead. Hubs brother and family went back home which is well away from the storm. I had thought of trying to do a meetup with Steven, but that will have to wait. He doesn't know me anyway, he just knows my friends. Entrusting our daughter into the Lord’s hands. Hoping she can get back home okay too as she lives on the barrier island. I’d welcome prayer on both our daughters’ and significant other’s behalf.

Okay. Now I’m gonna listen to CWK.

Adding… absolutely everything we had planned changed. I had also hoped to meet up with someone else I really wanted to meet up with, whose name I won’t disclose. It seems it wasn’t the Lord’s will at this time. We had also stopped by a friend’s church on Sunday unannounced, and turned out he was in MN for his own family reunion. He was the interim pastor who introduced us to expository teaching www.thbg.org . God is sovereign and I am not. I think I’ll pour my heart out to him once more.
I am sorry your plans were scuttled, msnobody! The main thing is that everyone remain safe. Thank you for your update! :-) And thanks for watching CWK.

You never know about trees, like you said, Kish.

When hubby’s mother passed away and his dad moved back to where we live, we were like, “Yes, we never have to go back to south Florida again.” Well, darling daughter moved there, so had to eat those words.

I must have missed a video about where your coffee mug was, but see you’ve been reunited with it again.
My coffee mug in Tally broke and I need to replace it. My signature mug in Gainesville is still going strong.

Ah, mystery solved.

Our younger daughter is okay. Not sure yet how her area in Pinellas Park fared. Sounded like a lot of water in St. Pete and Clearwater area. There was already damage from Helene really close to her, so I think that helped to prompt her evacuation. Hopefully our older daughter can fly out of Orlando tomorrow as scheduled.

I hope so, too! I am glad everyone in your family is safe thus far. What a blessing!

Glad you had no trees to contend with, Kish. Tree removal can get expensive.

Daughter’s office flooded, but doesn’t look too bad from what I could see on FaceTime. Power lines are down in front of her apartment, so she can’t drive into the apartment complex. She hiked about a mile with two cat carriers inside a wagon, and got them back into her and her friend’s apartments. Her car seats got wet from where the rain/water was pushed in around the door seals by the wind.

Let us know if anyone gets an update on Steven. I sent an email to Urroner (the toothsome navigator). Hopefully it was a good email address.

Here is my brief video showing the very light tree debris from Milton at my house.

I am sorry your daughter's office was flooded, msnobody! Clearly she went through a lot more than we did. I am just happy it wasn't worse for her and us.
