That's an awesome photo Steuss. You carry your weight very well. It looks like you worked very hard to get that physique. Sports are something I really miss from my youth. I still hold out hope that there will be sports in heaven even though it kind of defies logic.

Thank you Ajax, I sincerely appreciate that. Really. Self-esteem and body image have always been rascally for me, so these types of comments are like healing balm.

It's been a journey. I started lifting in high school, and I seem to have managed to be the worst combination of a lifter. I'm naturally strong... but I'm incredibly injury prone. I've have one pec that's completely separated. I've torn both biceps multiple times. I have really bad arthritis in my knees. I've had a laminectomy, discectomy, multiple epidurals and facet injections. Trying to keep active and in shape, but also keep my ego from trying to lift more than I should at my age is certainty a struggle.

It's rare when someone quotes ajax and I find myself agreeing with the quote, but he's right: heaven does defy logic.

I have to say that if I was sentenced to spend eternity in a form of existence where nothing was difficult, so that one could never again have the satisfaction of succeeding in a task that requires both careful thought and sustained effort, that would be a kind of torment so far as I was concerned. What would all that existence be for?

I think process philosophy may have fallen out of fashion, but a component of it (at least when crossed over into theology) was that an aspect of perfection is growth. If something/someone is stagnant, it can't be perfect. So, from that area of philosophy, being perfect means that you are still getting better, and growing. From a standpoint of God, you can look at the addition of glory. If God is already perfect, and perfection is a state of stagnation where nothing can be improved, then glory is basically worthless as it does nothing to improve God's state of being.

No, that's not what I'm saying and no you don't agree with me. I operate from the belief system. I will always believe in Heaven. It's my logic that is either incorrect or incomplete, not the idea of Heaven.
