Of course Doc will call all of this a late hour Democratic attempt to smear Kavanaugh. But a forensic document analyst can determine when the signature was made, if not who made it.
Lol. A forensic document analysis. Lol, Jesus Christ.
And this is exactly what this is, a late Hail Mary to destroy him based on what he may or may not have done, or said, or drank AS A TEEN. It's the oddest thing to see Democrats get bent out of shape over allegations made against a teen, but did mental contortions when it was their guy AND turn into vicious bullies, ignoring any counter character testimonials, because it contradicts what they think passes for proof.

There is nothing "Democrat" about this. There is nothing "late hour" about this either. Are you so damned stupid that you believe the Democrats planned this whole thing decades ago, waiting for Kavanaugh to be appointed to the Supreme Court so they could unleash their false witnesses and forged yearbook evidence?
You've already been shown to be a moron and a hypocrite because you're doing precisely what you complain about. You immediately call the accusers liars and you immediately assume the accused is a victim. If you were arguing in "good faith" you'd admit you really don't know crap and are just choosing to believe one side because, well, you know... women lie.
No, you daft “F” wit. It's last hour because the vote to get this moving out of committee is happening soon and a vote in the Senate will probably go down next week... Jesus Christ you're not only ignorant and ugly, but now removing all doubt you lost half your brian along with half your nuts.
You have no situational awareness when it comes to the thread, you've been demonstrated to not even understand your own proofs based on the same ignorance, and now you've completely removed any doubt that you have no idea how a confirmation process works you donkey.
Jesus. It's like trying to discuss something with SS, only he at least doesn't pretend to know what he's involved in.

Doc, I think we just disagree with what the FBI is capable of doing in these situations. "Fishing expedition" doesn't at all describe what the process in these kinds of cases usually looks like and I think history gives us a solid indication of that. It wouldn't be a criminal probe just a continuation of the background investigation that would come at the behest of the White House since Kavanaugh is their nominee.
I will add that I think the only reason Republicans aren't asking for the investigation (like they did in the Hill case) is because they think they have the confirmation votes anyway, so why bother.

It can't be a continuation since it's be a brand new background investigation. This would probably take weeks to conduct to any sort of Democrat satisfaction, but let's be honest. If they do kick off a new investigation you're going to have a slew of Democrats making claims they feel the FBI needs to run to ground each one thus eating up more time. I don't really care one way or another, but I'm amused no one can tell me what, exactly, would the FBI be looking for if this isn't a fishing expedition.
And yes, you're 100% right. This nomination is going to the floor for a vote, and unless the two aforementioned Senators flip Kavanaugh is getting his seat.
Again, if the Democrats were really serious about this they should've pursued the perjury issues and got Kavanaugh out based on his professional conduct. This SJW angle is galvanizing, for sure, but ultimately ineffective.

That is not my understanding of how the background check in these kinds of cases works. The White House can request the FBI conduct a follow-up investigation that is essentially a continuation of the initial background check. I'm happy to be wrong on this I'm just going by what most of the reporting and interviewed legal experts are suggesting. I'd also expect the FBI to move a little faster in this case, again history being my indicator on that.
I think the reason no one is providing a detailed explanation on what the investigation looks like is because no one has enough details to be able to accurately describe that. I'm generally about letting the experts do what they do. The FBI has a group that is highly trained in investigating sexual crimes and I would defer to what they think on the matter. I'd assume it would start with them interviewing Ford and then proceeding from there based on that interview and any additional information gleaned from the initial background check.
Although your right that some Democrats might try to claim the investigation wasn't thorough enough or demand more, I don't think they would have much leg to stand on. If we are just discussing the optics and politics of this I think letting the FBI do their thing and reporting back their findings favors Republicans (unless of course Kavanaugh is clearly guilty) but perhaps that opinion is why I'm just a nobody on a message board and not a Senator.

I mean, you can reopen an investigation, so I suppose, sure, the FBI wouldn't have to ask about foreign national contacts or a breakout of your assets. However, they're not going to just stop with an interview of the accusers. They'll have to interview the accuser's friends and family and if allowed her therapist(s). Then they would have to go to the accused's family, friends, associates, HS classmates, college classmates, so on and so forth. The FBI doesn't have inexhaustible resources so it'd take, say, a team of Agents weeks to months to conduct interviews, follow-up interviews, travel, coordination, reports, and everything in between. It's not as simple as showing up to someone's house and doing an ad hoc interview. Things need to be coordinated and that takes time, especially if someone wants a lawyer present.
This is what I'm assuming the Democrats are angling for.
eta: And this is what I mean by a fishing expedition. Since they'll be working a lead, it's inevitable that they'll have to fish for more potential witnesses.

Yeah, this is going to take months then as I outlined above. Look how long it's taken Ms. Ford to figure out, through her lawyer, to testify. That crap could've been over in a day, but there's a tactic as to why she delayed a decision and then pushed the date out a bit.

I mean you're free to feel that way, but the logistics I think would bear out more along the lines of what I typed above. Source: I've done a joint investigation with the FBI and it takes damned forever.

So I lost a much longer post to human error so I'll just try to sum up my thoughts.
Why do you think the Anita Hill investigation was able to be turned around so quickly? I get that a standard criminal investigation takes a while but I think we are talking about something very different, especially if there is nothing there. I also suspect that the speed is heavily influenced by the pressures or backing that the White House gives. On top of that, I'm less inclined to have sympathy to how long it takes, considering this could have been started on the 12th when the Ford letter was added to his background information and we are discussing one of the most critical positions in our government that is given for life.
I may be horribly underestimating how long it will take but it is mostly moot anyway, as I suspect that the Thursday's interview will be about all we get.

The democrat conspiracy runs much deeper than we thought. They set this all up back in May 2018 when they input this entry for the phrase on urban dictionary.com.
Devils Triangle A threesome with 1 woman and 2 men. It is important to remember that straight men do not make eye contact while in the act. Doing so will question their sexuality.
Larry: Did you hear that Eric and Brian were in a Devils Triangle with Sarah last night? Brad: Yeah man, I did, what homo's.
Larry: No man, its cool, they didn't make eye contact.

I have no idea how complicated the investigation was. If it was a simple matter of getting some details from a few people, and they cooperate it could go quickly. If it's a complicated investigation that entails a wider scope and lawyers it could take months. Each investigation is different.
