One difference between these two sets of people might be in what they think is the cause behind these terrible behaviors and events.
One set might propose that the cause is ‘evil’, or Satan.
The other might interpret the cause to be willful behavior originating by desire from within the person.
The two choices have different ramifications regarding responsibility and the possibilities for changes in that behavior.
It might be an oblique observation the Bible and Christian believers teach that evil behavior is caused by willfull behaviour originated in desire from within the person. Jesus is quite explicit about it. I have heard of some mentally ill individuals blame satan for bad acts. I do not think those mentally ill people are thinking clearly.
There is a generally recognized observation that bad company might influence wilful choices in a bad way. Though Satan has no pizzas to give people some people might take a suggestion to steal one.
In general I think the spiritual power of the human beings we associate with influence our choices more than we sometimes think and more than satan can .
What would happen if Satan accepted Jesus as his savior and repented of his sins? What would be the theological implications of such a thing?

If you have not had this experience, I would be very cautious playing around with Satan and/or his army of demonic spirits - meaning, I would certainly call on the Lord to help in dealing with these very serious spiritual matters.
Spiritual warfare is a very real and very serious thing. It should never be treated as anything but.
Pretty sure I know something about spiritual warfare. That said, I was watching a certain youtube video wherein the believer simply stated (to Satan or his minions directly) "No. Not today.". Sort of modeling herself after Jesus when he said, "Get thee behind me." Of course at the same time staying in the Word and confidently appealing to Jesus for protection--or covering as we call it.
Would you consider that playing around with Satan and his army? Sort of simply saying to the effect..."No. I know who you are. I know what you're doing. You can't have me. You can never have me. My God won't let you have me. Get behind me. I'm moving forward. "

Yeah you did!
See if you have more to say based on what I stated above. I'm not talking about issuing a dare, I'm talking about making a declaration. And as I said, relying confidently on intercession via prayer.

Hey Ceebs I haven't read every single post on this thread but one thing I've found interesting is reading the comments by yourself, huck, and my own. If I am not mistaken, you have a mainly Catholic background, huck is prior LDS, and I come from Protestant traditions. What's interesting is comparing how we each view and address the subtopics and various concepts therein. I make it a point to skip over your all's posts when we're responding to the same thing so I don't let you guys influence my thinking. Then I go back to see how you've each commented on the same issue or question--compare notes.
I haven't dropped in all that much but I'm liking it. A lot.

Satan (Lucifer) is a fallen angel. Angels are spiritual beings and spiritual being can not be saved - or unsaved. The path to salvation (Jesus) has been provided to, and only to, human beings.

I would not consider that playing around with Satan and/or demonic spirits.
When I suggested that these things are nothing to play around with - or how serious spiritual warfare is - or how serious demonic spirits are - I was speaking more about not taking these things as serious as they are - or degrees of mockery and/or sarcastic invitations that I sometimes hear from non-believers.

I am with you completely here.

Yeah, next time read the monsters guide before showing up to play.

What did Lucifer do that caused him to become 'fallen'? Are there other non-fallen angels? If so do they ever get to become human beings? I thought beliefs in a pre-mortal existence was a Mormon only thing?
Wait. “And all things whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive” can’t happen for the Devil? Like, if you believe God can change Satan’s disposition so he’ll repent, wouldn’t it come to pass?
