My wife got this song for me - it was an itunes free download a while ago. But it's an awesome song. I don't know anything about the band though.
But check it out! Gomez "How We Operate" - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9uTF2AM7VTU

Still waiting for Will to back this up...

Wow - yeah. That is a great song...
Quite a bit edgier than their usual stuff...
English band. Been around since - hmm - 98 I'd guess. They won the Mercury Music Prize over here a few years back.
This is the first tune I remember from them:

I think this is my fav Gomez track:

Hubby and I are going to New York next week. We've got tickets to see Avenue Q...much to his embarrassment...LOL
If you haven't listened to this soundtrack and need a good laugh, download it off of I-Tunes. It will be the best $10 you ever spent.
Some of my favorite songs:
"The Internet is for Porn"
"Everyone's a Little Bit Racist"
"If You Were Gay"
"What Do you Do with a BA in English?/It Sucks to be Me"
"There's A Fine, Fine Line"
It's not one to listen to with the kiddies..but the fact that it is a pan on Sesame Street is hilarious!
I downloaded the soundtrack to my Ipod last night, and listened to it on my way into work. I smiled the whole commute!
I'll let you know how the show goes. We'll see if my TBM husband has heart failure after the show.
;)
Here's the official website for the show. Download the soundtrack off of I-Tunes, though. It's cheaper.

Cool! Not so sure about the first one, but I'll definitely have to check out their albums.
Thanks.

I'm with ya. They used to be a lot more - ermm - 'abstract' than they appear to be now.
Speaking of the the Mercury Music Prize, here's one of the nominies from this years awards that I'm kinda into at the moment...

Eeeeck! I'll have to take a big pass on them. I think keyboards should be banned from music.
Although I'm in love with all the women in that band now.

Here's something melancholy a friend sent me the other day. I hope it hasn't been posted yet; I haven't read all the posts on this thread, but I have read most of them. :) This song is absolutely beautiful.
