It's from a Birch Society publication, so it might as well be from Benson.

No, that's not what I am saying. His old entries about us have been brought over to the new site. I thought he might excise some of the more bizarre material when he migrated to a more well-traveled website. Apparently not. LOL!!!

Yeah, this is funny. He really probably ought to delete them in light of everything that's been happening, but I guess he's still in that old mindset where he thinks that deleting that will be "caving in to blackmail from the anti's"--as if deleting them would be tantamount to confessing/admitting that, in fact, he has engaged in some rotten things. Frankly, I don't see what he stands to gain by continuing to deny it, at this point. After the butt-kicking he was dealt by Bradfrom, the MI, and BYU, I would think that he would be scrambling to make good in any way that he can.

ETA: Does he still have that one where he talks about how much he relishes watching Angela Lansbury get blown away?

Equality wrote:Droopy's post is a model of even-handed cogency compared to the rants of Rush Limbaugh on his show today. I listened out of curiosity, and he was completely unhinged. Limbaugh actually said that as a result of the decision today, government bureaucrats will be empowered to deny your grandmother health care services if they find out she didn't vote for Obama. He also said somebody "must have gotten to Roberts." Just when you thought the conservatives' grip on the rope of reality couldn't get any more tenuous, they let go entirely.

Limbaugh is ranting about political, policy considerations that the Supreme Court is not supposed to decide. Roberts talks about this beginning on page 2 of the opinion, and in the syllabus. Had the Supreme Court based its ruling on the factors Limbaugh is having a hissy fit about, it would have been the exact "legislating from the bench" that people who call themselves conservative are supposed to oppose. From page 6 of the opinion:

Members of this Court are vested with the authority to interpret the law; we possess neither the expertise nor the prerogative to make policy judgments. These decisions are trusted to our Nation's elected leaders, who can be thrown out of office if people disagree with them. It is not our job to protect people from the consequences of their political choices.

I've deleted quite a few old posts that I regret making. Seems like moving to Patheos would be a great opportunity to sort through the posts and hopefully change the tone for a new audience. That's what I'd do, anyway.

The majority said that the individual mandate was not valid under the Commerce Clause or the Necessary and Proper Clause. But you would have to have read the opinion (and understood it) to know that.

Goody for them. They fundamentally misread Obamacare as law, and allowed a major departure from the rule of law and and the constitution in allowing the Obamacare to go forward under Congress' power to tax. The concept of the rule of law and of limited government have, indeed, been further and severely crippled by this decision, and it creates what secularist Morlockian Lawyers like Darth most dearly belove - precedent - that open the floodgates for further government dictates as to what Americans must buy or face punishment.

The Court's suggestion that the federal government could force Americans to buy energy efficient windows is just the smallest tip of the statest iceberg that has now been given a blank check to proceed.

Fortunately, the overwhelming majority of Americans are substantially more intelligent - even at this juncture - than the Ruling Class and its sycophants in the Great and Spacious Projects, and want Obamacare canned.

The battle now goes back to the legislature, and the Tea Party is going to come roaring back with a vengeance. Occupy Washington! Now that's something I could sink my incisors into.

Interestingly, Comrade Obama argued explicitly that the mandate was not to be considered a tax. Roberts and the Court majority just upheld it as precisely that. It is, indeed, the largest tax and will be the largest and most crushing middle class tax in American history. The commerce clause, which is now a blank check for Congress and other government agencies to do pretty much anything they so desire, must also be severely delimited and brought much closer to its original intent.

droopy, you are once again, not upholding your own word. You came back, against your word to ONLY address the Bradford issue.

If you ever believed that Droopy was not in fact a dangerous extremist at heart, just read this Unabomber-style manifesto. He is insane. And his twisted, apocalyptic interpretation of his faith has been enlisted in the service of his twisted political extremism.

Just think of all the credit he lends to Daniel Peterson's cause.

Oh for crying out loud...

Admittedly this was a bit of a stemwinder (and it was intended to be), but this is, at the core of it, all I'm actually saying:

I'm not talking about revolution in the streets...

The revolution I'm talking about is a political, social, and cultural one. It is high time that conservatives, Republicans, and the mealy, self absorbed Republican party learn the art of political and cultural war and take to the field of battle with only one objective - victory.

The Left, and the Democratic party that is its institutional face, must be exposed for what they are, denounced as the enemies of humanity, civilization, liberty, human potential, and human flourishing they represent, and defeated, not just in the arena of ideas, but politically; they must be removed from power, influence, and control of the laws and institutions of society as much as possible,

That's it. Political, and cultural defeat and marginalization through legal and democratic means. I'm sure, quite sure, you missed that aspect of it on purpose, Kish, but no surprise there.

The urgency and military symbolism of my polemic, however, stand, just as it does within the gospel (put on the whole armor of God, etc.).

Droopy,

Why don't you leave these conversations to the kinds of people that actually work and pay taxes?
