Re: Global ban on single use plastic?
Our internet sleuths have been trawling the abyss of the deep web looking for clues. Shockingly, they have discovered almost identical incidents of postnapping across the country. As of yet, no one has connected these nefarious snatchings with a coordinated plot. Currently, our net wizards are investigating connections between phpBB and Russian Oligarchs. Stay tuned.

Interesting article from a wonderful website (visually as good as National Geographic). Hakai Magazine.

Jersey Girl, to try to reply to the bits of the phantom post I remember (and you reiterated). I'm glad you liked the straws I linked. I probably ordered 4 or 5 different types before we settled on those, they were the only one that satisfied the "bendy straw itch" for my wife.
I figured you were familiar with most of the other things I linked, just hoping to share some with those that maybe aren't as a deep diver into topics as you

And it is always good to see you, CeeBoo.

As fate would have it, I was perusing TreeHugger today and they had an article in which they shared a nifty little inforgraphic from ReuseThisBag. It is too big to post directly but it is definitely worth a look.

If a picture says a thousand words, then imagine what pictures and words can do together! The following infographic is a good example of how effective visuals can be, especially when combined with explanations and statistics. It tackles the immense problem of plastic pollution -- an issue that many of us know about, but can seem very overwhelming and daunting.
I liked this infographic because it gives good background information, offers sufficient horror stories of plastic's effects on animals and ecosystems to spur one to action, and provides solid practical advice for changing personal habits. Read it, digest it, and pass it on to others who want to understand the situation better. (Also check out our beginner's guide to plastic-free living.)

I apparently have your son from another mother then, because he has had that same "bendy straw itch" for the vast majority of his 18 year old life. Thanks for the link, he's getting a set for his next birthday!
