Not being American I am not up to speed on your food stamp programs. It seems to be highly used. In Australia those on lower wages and a number of children get a transfer payment from the government until a child reaches 16.

The claim seems based on this article:

The rankings are based on poverty and unemployment numbers.

But there's no suggested theory for how the two are related. If the article is suggesting that poor states could become richer by voting in Democrat legislatures, what is the mechanism for that?

Maybe if they try to change the vote they will be kicked off the voter rolls.
