That was the first official BLM protest march since this started. The local group designed it to reduce the risk of COVID-19 by making it silent and asking folks to remain 6 feet apart. I read a couple of reports saying it took an hour for the march to completely pass a single point. There was no police presence and no reports of violence or property destruction.

At the same time, there was a second large march from Capitol Hill to a wealthy part of the City called Madison Park. It went through an area of the City that was mostly black 30 years ago, but as since been gentrified, pushing the poorer blank residents farther south. Again, no police and no violence or property damage.

There’s at least one march today. However, a local Antifa group has posted about a “noisy” protest outside the north and south Precinct this afternoon. So all you Antifa fans should keep your eyeballs glued to Twitter starting at 3:00 CDT. (Chaz Daylight Time)

I should add a reminder that we do have anarchist groups who have as part of their agenda destruction of property. I’m thrilled that they found and arrested the young woman who set five police cars on fire last weekend. She’s facing federal charges. Good. (Have I ever mentioned that I really, really despise arsonists?)

DAYTON — Business owners in the Oregon District are calling attention to the fear they said white supremacists brought to the neighborhood Saturday.

“Shame on those two white men who came down here with guns,” Bethany Ramsey, owner of Puff Apothecary, said Thursday afternoon.

So over a FOX News, with no actual rioting going on they decided to shift the narrative to one that puts the town's mayor against the police chief, Carmen Best who said it wasn't her decision to retreat from the area:

“Our calls for service have more than tripled,” Best said. “These are responses to emergency calls — rapes, robberies, and all sorts of violent acts that have been occurring in the area that we’re not able to get to.”

This may be true that calls have tripled, but in a situation where every Right Wing troll is pretending to be ANTIFA online, how hard is it to make prank calls knowing perfectly well the cops won't come?
