Re: What I Have Learned About Moderating A Discussion Board

Post by Hound of Heaven »

I inquired of Co pilot whether it is just for a moderator on a discussion board to initiate a public thread visible to all, specifically to highlight posts from only one board member, citing the reason that the moderator disapproves of that member's contributions. I received a response from Co Pilot.

I think that Hound is an A.I. program.

I am currently struggling to comprehend …
Have you used the report feature to report the post? Using the report feature alerts Shades and the mods to posts needing attention, as well as their whereabouts.

That day, Buttercup was amazed to discover that when moderators said, 'use the report feature', what they meant was 'I love you.'

Why would one think that there is a rule against posting pictures? It has been done many times and reflecting differing views.

I’ve noted that most everyone on this board manages to understand board etiquette without throwing a tantrum or intentionally trying to disrupt the place with a flood of image threads.

There will always be the occasional exception, I’m sure.

The only action I can find that Hound is complaining about was the proposal that multiple threads of video Hound likes would be gathered into one thread so as not to crowd board space. This sounds reasonable but may not match Hound's estimate of importance.

Occasionally, we’ll see visits by users who believe that a discussion board should allow them to flood it with their own threads of borrowed content and links to elsewhere, so that discussions and viewpoints not meeting their approval can be continually buried by their own particular flavor of propaganda.

I recently inquired with Co Pilot about the fairness of a progressive moderator providing preferential treatment to fellow progressive board members while serving in a moderator role, rather than as a participant in the board. Here is the response I received. Does this response appear to be a suitable reflection of what many are encountering here in Spirit Paradise?

This you?
Just kick back and enjoy the show as I demonstrate to you progressives how to embrace life instead of wallowing in misery around the clock! Get ready to flap those wings! It might take a bit of elbow grease, but if you can wrap your head around the fact that Trump has left you in the dust with your Marxist dreams, you'll soon be fluttering around like a fabulous butterfly!
Is this showing us how to embrace life and flutter like a butterfly, HoH?
