Re: Georgia just went Blue Again
Jon Ossoff and Warnock didn't win Fulton County, GA by as as much Biden, but Fulton County saw a higher percentage of Georgia's votes during the Senate runoffs than during the Presidential election.
10.5% of Georgia's votes for President came from Fulton County. Biden won Fulton County by 46.39%. Biden won Georgia by 0.24%.
10.84% of Georgia's votes for Senators came from Fulton County. Ossoff won Fulton County by 43.44% while Warnock won Fulton County by 45.16%. Ossoff won Georgia by 1.02% while Warnock won Georgia by 1.86%.
It looks like that Trump not conceding, and those baseless conspiracy theories from right-wing media and Sidney Powell about the Dominion voting machines depressed conservative turnout a bit in Georgia during the Senate runoffs.

Qanon lawyer Sidney Powell has withdrawn her lawsuit from Georgia. Link
Her baseless conspiracy theories about the Dominion voting machines along with Trump not conceding likely cost Republicans having lost those two GASenate seats. Conservative voter turnout during the Senate runoffs was down a bit from the Presidential election. Conservative-leaning Hall County had 1.81% of Georgia's votes cast for President while then having 1.76% of Georgia's votes cast for Senators. Liberal-leaning DeKalb County had 7.42% of Georgia's votes cast for President while then having 7.72% of Georgia's votes cast for Senators.

Re: Georgia just went Blue Again
I seriously doubt Trump voters didn't show up to vote in the runoff because they were fed lies about voter fraud. If anything, it was the failure of establishment Republicans to energize them. But the real issue is changing demographics, not just from socialist countries abroad but from failed blue states to red states.Brack wrote: ↑Sat Jan 23, 2021 9:10 pmQanon lawyer Sidney Powell has withdrawn her lawsuit from Georgia. Don't New York my Florida and don't California my Texas. It seems like there were always 5 yankees for every confederate, and 10 Lamanites for every Nephite.
And when the Confederates saw Jackson standing fearless like a stonewall, the army of Northern Virginia took courage and drove the federal army off their land.

I suppose every other viewer of this board apart from poor old ignorant me recognises that picture as a witty trope on a scene well-known to EVERYBODY (except me)? But who are these two guys outside the particular context of this 'swamp' meme, and why does the one with the gun have 88 on his arm? Please?

I thought the image accurately represented the current state of the Right. MAGA was code for Make America White Again amongst many of its supporters. Since it required a big, dumb, gullible electorate to succeed the racists were more than happy to tolerate them. They were useful idiots. Now that Magats lost the election, the racists are putting a bullet in their brain by accusing many of them of being deep state, or ineffectual or weak. MAGA is dead as a political tool. The racists will move off MAGA.
Also, the 88 is for HH, Heil Hitler. H is the 8th letter of the alphabet.

Oh yes, I agree that the image had an effective and relevant message. But I was more interested where you adapted it from. Or did you draw it yourself, in which case you have a lot of talent!
(And thanks for explaining the 88)

Well, I tell ya, if ever I was to make it to the show 'Who wants to be a Millionare', I would try to hire Chap to be a pretend friend/lifeline, so that's why I was confused that you didn't recognize this. The last scene from "Of Mice and Men."Chap wrote: ↑Mon Jan 25, 2021 8:57 pmI suppose every other viewer of this board apart from poor old ignorant me recognises that picture as a witty trope on a scene well-known to EVERYBODY (except me)? Alas ... shamefully, I have never got round to reading that book! I shall get it onto my Kindle straight away.
