You came into this part of the debate claiming that EA was over-reacting to an issue. You posted claims about it you supposedly found in a source. I looked into your comments and EA's and it turned out you didn't know how to read as well as you seemed to think. Looking into it further, there is clear and systemic voter suppression going on in Georgia over the course of years that is targeting minority voters in order to benefit Republicans. It's been about more than one county even if Randolph County was the immediate focus the last couple of weeks.
You screwed up and are on the wrong side of this issue. It's about that easy, brah.

Perhaps I'm just not as cynical but I don't read any of the posts here the same way you have. I've really only noticed crassness on this thread from you. in my opinion they successfully identified what was the probable motive behind these closings, even if the stated reason was something different. You're right that some may have been using it as a sort of political cudgel but I didn't see that here. Mostly just a discussion of the series of events and why it looked as terrible as it did.
I also suspect your theoretical scenario of cornering these "cracker assed crackers" would probably go differently. They may earnestly have been following the race (it is making a lot of national headlines even prior to the polling place closings). Even if this was the issue that drew their attention in, is that a particularly bad thing. Have we gotten to the hipster point of politics where if you weren't 100% plugged into a subject from the beginning you aren't allowed to jump in?

Dude. At best "suppressing" votes in Randolph county would net the Republicans a few hundred votes assuming all the non-Black votes go for White Guy and all the Black votes go for Black Gal. As it stands the Democrats will probably net ~700-800 votes and that's on the high end of estimates.
I'm astonished you all think there's more to the story than there is because reality dictates that it's really what they say it is.

Seriously? It's been pointed out the behaviours are much more wide-spread than the one county that was the focus the last few weeks. It was pointed out your original attempt to discredit EA was not only inaccurate in it's portrayal of the source that you used to make it, but that it was from two years ago showing that the scope of the problem is a long standing effort by Republicans in state office to suppress the minority vote in Georgia. EA made the tie-in to how it's another example among many of something you or I would take for granted that the government isn't actively trying to interfer with our voting in an election which is a privlege black voters don't enjoy.
