Now it's your turn Jersey Girl! Go get your doctor's note! It is great for anxiety or high stress personalities.

Ezias, I am not anxious nor do I have a high stress personality and I prefer to face the world stone cold sober.

Gotta love this...

For you, who knows, it works on hundreds of different problems. It is a panacea (almost). One of the best things is it magnifies the mind, yet stabilizes the emotions so that they can be worked out objectively.

Did you think that my opposing comments on this thread were due to lack of experience? If so, you would be decidedly wrong in that assumption.

For me personally, I am cutting back significantly on the dope because it has helped me solve most of my mental issues already, and now the side effects are beginning to outwiegh the benefits. Particularly how it messes with my appetite.

Out of curiosity, what are the side effects that you have noticed? Obviously, you get the "munchies". What other negative side effects have you noticed?

Tobacco is much more addicting than marijuana and more dangerous to health.

Over time many pot users simply stop. Not so with tobacco.

If medical science finds the stuff work they should be able to prescribe it. Social norms and fear should not stand in the way of reality in treatment.

If it is legalized and taxed and The Feds can be kept out of it many jails and prisons in CA will benefit, law enforcement will have a lot more time and money to work on real crimes and the State will benefit.

I believe that the Federal Government should leave it up to each of the individual 50 States whether any of each of these 50 States want to legalize marijuana or not.

Here is the Tenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution:

Amendment X

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people.

So we're clear on costs on legal versus illegal pot, one of the biggest concerns raised about medical marijuana in New Jersey is the potential that patients could purchase 2 ounces legally a month at far, far, far below the street price and sell off the portion they don't use (2 ounces is a LOT of pot for a month). Legalized marijuana would undercut the highly inflated street market - not to mention allowing individuals to grow their own without fear of arrest.

I'm a fan of decriminalizing pot use - believing that it would undercut the drug trade and offer another legal avenue to intoxication. If I had my way, and my daughters had to experiment with something growing up, I would strongly prefer that it be pot over alcohol. I've never heard of a girl getting knocked up after a night of pot-only smoking ...

For the alcoholics among us, simultaneous pot use is the best hangover preventer ever.

All that said, I'm not personally a fan of its effects and would abstain even if legal.
