You are forgetting they are likely immortal and don't suffer from disease. Even at subluminal velocities they could easily reach our world in half a million years from any point in the galaxy.

If they can communicate at speeds seemingly faster than we can, what does it matter where they are or where they are traveling to? I'm sure they can create virtual environments as real as everyday life seems to us. Or they may simply go to sleep for that long. Time isn't a problem for someone that is immortal.
