You're right, of course. My apologies.

For the board there is another form of Libertarianism which is Left-Leaning. It includes anarchism and libertarian Marxism, among others.
Basically Libertarianism is absolutely useless as a term, so you need to be able to just read the words various people propose with their various iterations of Libertarianism.
ANYWAY.
Markk.
Let's just be honest. There isn't a solution that doesn't involve being an authoritarian. There is no political will to forcefully remove these people and relocate them to treatment centers, jails, and hippie Libertarian communes that are all paid for by the state.
I think what California should do is build 100,000 - 500,000 solar powered micro units in the high desert, build massive hospitals and treatment centers, build huge cafeterias and malls, and, you know, just basically relocate them to a bum paradise where they can freely do drugs, get housed, get fed, and make a crap load of bum babies. All this welfare and all the bum babies will create MASSIVE wealth increases. We should allow open borders and integrate all new immigrants with free micro units at the bumplex, where they can work if they choose, or not, and then create MASSIVE wealth because they're encouraged to make a ton of babies. This is a good thing since we're at, what? 7.5 billion consumers now? Gotta get up to 10 billion because we totally don't have enough welfare babies, bum babies, and desperate people babies. I'm sure the earth can support it all. LIBERTARIANISM.
And you get to pay for it because you're sober and work! Good luck, man! Lot's of needles down there. Watch your step!

Left-libertarianism is a term used usually in a European context to refer to anarcho-syndicalist types and the Noam Chomsky's of the world. It's a type of socialist. It is distinct from right-libertarians like myself and those from the CATO Institute that you've hilariously decided aren't really libertarians because libertarians must not favor any sort of government-based social welfare at all. In America, when you say libertarian, unless you specify otherwise, you are naturally referring right-libertarians.
Much like terms such as "liberal" or "conservative" it's shorthand that vaguely points to a series of positions a person is likely to gravitate towards because they tend to cohere one another. A person who thinks the drug war is a bad idea is a person who is likely to think campus speech codes are a bad idea. It's not wise to take it further than that, nor is it meaningless.

Disregarding the fact that you can't conclusively point to illegal brown immigrants as the cause of any of these folks being homeless, you write as if extreme poverty and homelessness is some sort of recent phenomenon in this country. It isn't. It's just that modern technology makes it much more visible to a wider audience.
Have you ever seen pics of living conditions for thousands of citizens within any major US city at the turn of the last century? It's an eye-opener.

To the rest of the board,
EA is obviously what he is. He just doesn't like being outed. He'll dodge and weave and bob and floop. But believe you me at the end of the day he's an economic socialist, despite his claims to the contrary, and a post-modern social Marxist.
You can choose to believe his bull crap, but remember this is a man who advocates lying to achieve a political aim.
His word is absolutely worthless. Just read what he's drives at, and pray he never gets a bit of authority. This is one scary mother “F” er.

I've repeatedly posted solutions...
I'm sure you have, but you've been laying on the sarcasm pretty thickly lately, and I've forgotten what your actual solution is, assuming I happened to have read those threads in the first place.

Fair enough, Analytics. The short version is a change of building ordinances to allow microapartments to be built. I'd have on-site mental health services for tenants, to include drug and alcohol rehab, workforce transition, a medical clinic, and security. I'd have a public-private partnership so builders get a guaranteed long-term ROI on their investment. I'd probably have housing divided up by gender for security, and possibly further divided up for vets so the VA could partner with us.

There is no complete answer, but there will come a time for tough love, something will have to give...maybe a real life "escape for LA."
Drugs by and afar are a real problem that can lessen the problem...we really need to be tough on them in my opinion...this libertarian BS about making them legal...well, how is that working? Lets give them more needles, and make pot legal so the youth can grow up smoking legal pot and then take the next step.

We really need to be tough on drugs? We’ve been at war with drugs for what, 30 years. As a result, we have something like the second highest rate of incarceration of any country in the world. It’s a bankrupt strategy, and you want to double down on it. It’s not like we don’t have examples of strategies that have worked much better. See, e.g., Portugal for one example.

Re: Doc, Homless in LA
One answer that I see is stop the drugs by any means necessary, and deal with the mentally ill...open up the hospitals that Regan [Reagan] closed. We have to stop heroin, speed, and other drugs that create most of the homelessness, and mental illness (burnouts).
But California voters did past Proposition 63 back in 2004. (I still remember voting for that proposition back then.)

https://ballotpedia.org/California_Prop ... ices_(2004)
Maybe the proposition hasn't helped as many of the mentally ill in California as it was intended to, but it has helped some of the mentally ill there.
