It's hilarious there are actual people who think Alex Jones constitutes important political commentary. It's like thinking Star Wars conveys important information on modern science.

I suppose for Drumpf lovers, that's about as close to science and politics as they get.

I don't know why you are so afraid of him, WD. Please tell me all about your fears. I am here for you man. I'll put partisan strife aside to comfort you in your time of need. I've even got a safe space with unicorn pillows all ready for your visit.

Kishkumen wrote: So, now I see the TRUTH. This was a conspiracy all along to silence Alex Jones. Because he was too close to revealing the truth. Then the jig would be up. They had to shut him down so they could make more money, but not virtuous free-market money, the kind Alex Jones makes by deceiving people, instilling fear in them, and then selling them unregulated dietary supplements. But evil bad money made off of cat videos and shooting Tesla cars playing David Bowie into space.

Lol, thanks. Although the entire post from which this snippet was selected was exceedingly well-executed, the portion above can stand alone as an example that manages to sardonically dissect WD's verbose and delusional word salad with one short paragraph.

To note:
Infowars Official, the app named after Alex Jones’ controversial radio talk show, has become the fourth most popular news app in the United States that’s currently available in the iOS App Store, according to public rankings. It was the 47th most popular just two days ago.

The free app, which launched in June, streams live shows and written pieces from Jones and other conservative pundits. It also links to the Infowars store where visitors can buy T-shirts and skincare products. An Android version of the app is available in the Google Play Store; there, it jumped from being the 31st most popular news app to the 11th.

For further consideration. This came out before the Alex Jones deboarding.

If I'm reading Taibbi correctly, and I don't see how I couldn't since he's pretty clear, we ought to be less concerned about fringe voices getting a platform to spew their nonsense and vitriol, and be absolutely concerned that platforms are caving to government pressure to censor themselves. I share his concern that people are so willing to ignore the meta narrative and secure a temporary victory in order to feel safe from dissent.

That's, uh, frankly terrifying. It's a sort of Fahrenheit 451 when we're 'burning' our liberties to secure political expediency.

Mark Warner? So, we're worried about a Democratic authoritarian regime? Or are we saying that the GOP controlled congress and allies of the President wanted to shut down Alex Jones, just to show they could ban whoever they wanted? Or is this the one area where both sides of congress are actually working together - against the American people, because secretly they all want to be dictators? Who are we worried about here?

Sounds like we're screwed no matter what.

I don't think I could possibly express my thoughts any better - So I won't even try.
It is beyond terrifying - as it should be for all Americans (no matter their personal political views)
