Cable news and their affiliated websites, which still drives people's sense of "the news" has covered this story at a much, much greater density than the Paul Hasson domestic terrorism plot despite the latter being objectively much more serious. Most of that is because right-wing outrage media has a heavy finger on the overall news agenda of cable media. Some of it is also that it is a juicy tabloid story involving a celebrity. None of this indicates a left-wing bias in coverage decisions.

Under what conditions? One where lots of human labor is needed or one where no human labor is needed because machines do it all better and cheaper?

Both, if it matters to Kevin. Use of the term Socialism has become very sloppy in the US. So I’m trying to make sure I understand what he means with respect to ownership of the means of production.

I used to think you were trolling with this, but I now think you genuinely have such a toxic combination of arrogance and ignorance that you don't understand even stereotypical libertarianism when you see it. I don't know how someone can so confidently opine on subjects they know so little about, but that's life. Given your proclivity for ignoring what contradicts what you want to believe and misrepresenting what people say, this leads you to hilarious inferences like calling famous people on the right Marxists.

Your most recent argument is straightforward affirming the consequent. You point out that I am sympathetic to a UBI and that "a lot of Marxists like UBI." I'm not so sure the latter assertion is even true, but if it was, it doesn't follow from the fact that a person likes X and does someone else that they belong to the same category. Hitler breathed air. So does Doc. Ergo, Doc is a Nazi.

If you think it makes sense to classify Richard Nixon as a Marxist when he supported basic income, or to use the other example I named, Charles Murray, that means you can't make basic distinctions. There's nothing inherently Marxist about UBI, so all you are left with is a game of association that is transparently ignorant to anyone with even a basic grasp of political science.

I'd further add that support of some form of social welfare is borderline universal in all Western Democracies. Opposition to it is a radical stance that is even radical in radical economic liberalism. If you choose to classify any redistributionist system of welfare as "Marxism," not only do you have no sense of what Marxism is normally understood to be, you are calling virtually everyone Marxists. That would be a clear-cut example of being so far to the right that everything is on the far left. Then of course you'll see "left wing bias" in everything.

EA,

Well, I used to think you were a relatively thoughtful poster, but I now realize you're a person who is deeply conflicted, hates the hand that was dealt you, totally incapable of adapting to the world around you, lashes out in response, and your internal philosophies have no basis in logic and aren't consistent with reality.

But what are we gonna do?

I know what Americans did in 2016 as result of being attacked relentlessly by people like you. They voted in a psychopath to combat psychopaths like you. They hired a pugilist to punch back after getting punched in the face for 40 years. They realized they'll never get anywhere discoursing with people that are relentlessly ignorant in virtually every conceivable way that people actually operate, and who take every opportunity to disenfranchise the masses because you and your ilk have determined that utopia is just around the corner if you're in control.

History has shown by the body counts, hundreds of millions so far, that you and your kind are the biggest threat to humankind, human advancement, and human achievement. Given the opportunity to rule you'll oppress the masses, even if it means killing them off or starving them to death. So, basically, you're the enemy and they see it now. Very clearly.

So we got Trump. Good job, genius.

Do do realize Trump lost the majority vote by 3 million, right? That fact alone debunks this constant "America spoke against people like you in 2016" BS. Most Americans voted against Trump. Trump won because of the electoral college.

I know a few people like you on Facebook who always try to appear to be so far superior to everyone else because they think if they attack both sides equally. Democrats are stupid, Repubs are stupid, but people like you are enlightened. Yeah. Right. It doesn't help that you're constantly misrepresenting people's beliefs despite having thorough correction on this subject. This makes you not different that the "partisans" you love to criticize.

It's called the Electoral College moron. You're so damned retarded, Mr. Might As Well Get A Jump on Communism Again. I mean, you totally lost any and all credibility with that one.

Jesus you're daft sometimes.
