Subs of course can't support any of his remarks, he just wants people to keep giving him the benefit of the doubt which he lost a long, long time ago. Meanwhile no one on this forum can post anything without him jumping on their crotch demanding they source every little thing.

Oops! You lied again. What a surprise! O_o

Or maybe you can point to the quotes, cites or links to those statements by ‘the Squad’, within this thread?

The problem with Trump's tweets, and with reactions to them such as:

subgenius wrote:Nancy Schneider even went so far as to echo the sentiment in President Trump's tweets, saying, "If you think you have it better in your -- where you came from or how they did things there, go back where you came from."

... is that they fundamentally misunderstand what a democratic country that elects its president and elects its lawmakers is about.

The reason why a country like the USA attracts talented and courageous people to it is not because they think its laws and its government policies are just fine as they are - It is quite clear that even Trump-supporting posters such as subgenius and ajax18 think that the USA as it currently functions is less than ideal in many such respects. The point is, rather, that they know that if they don't like the way things are run or the people who are running things, then they can get to say so loud and clear, and are free to vote for lawmakers who they think will make a difference.

Saying to elected representatives 'if you don't like the way things are here, then leave' is to deny the rights of the people who elected them to have their representatives speak out about the things that got them elected. Imagine how it would have been if that had been said to politicians who opposed slavery, or who demanded that women should be allowed to vote, or who spoke up against the robber barons of the great trusts that once did as they pleased. Where would progress have come from then?

Bluntly, what notoriously thin-skinned Trump is saying to his critics is not about the USA - it is about him. "Stop criticising me and my policies, or leave the country". No wonder he fell in love (his words, remember?) with Kim Jong Un.

Strange that those who want to see the backs of those who criticise Trump's policies did not feel obliged to emigrate when Obama was president, isn't it? Then criticism of the elected president was pure patriotism ...

That makes such good sense, right? ; )

My "manner" is relevant to the poster's request, and even more so to my response. It is simply a fact that Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez called these people racist and it is a consistent behavior from her to characterize America as racist. And the word you are looking for is not "rationalization", it is "justification".

Oops. Your problems with the language are showing again. Look up the definition of the word, rationalization, and note that it was used correctly.

In the meantime, maybe you can explain your rationalization and acceptance of why Trump needs to blurt out juvenile and racist tweets like a toddler with Tourette’s regardless of whatever anyone else is doing or saying. Is Trump really such a thin-skinned snowflake, unable to rise above any behavior he complains about?

Do you even have a point, here? ; )

Trump’s entire campaign style is based on the idea that America is broken and in need of restoration. Make America great again. American carnage. Love it or leave it isn’t a bare minimum coherent explanation for employing an obviously racist trope. The implicit idea of go back to where you came from is that minorities are lesser or temporary Americans.

Subs believes that since the 1970’s America has sanctioned the mass killing of babies in a scale that makes the holocaust look quaint. He does not take this belief of his as a disinvitation from the country. He’s allowed to believe the country has done very bad things while being an American. Subs here is engaging in rank ideological hypocrisy. In his case, he is just playing apologist for Trump, but it tells you how ideological hypocrisy can mix in with and bolster racist assertions. The irony is subs ends up carrying water for a type of racism that will put his back against the wall if it is able to metastatize enough.

Your hypersensitivity to racism has warped your view to the point that you can't make good preictions. Trump's comments had absolutely nothing to do with the squad's race and everything to do with their ideology. You know the old, "content of their character rather than the color of their skin," thing that Democrats don't really believe in anymore.
And when the confederates saw Jackson standing fearless as a stone wall the army of Northern Virginia took courage and drove the federal army off their land.

There are lots of progressive office holders. Trump singled out 4 women of color and told them to go back to the awful countries they came from even though 3 of them are from the US.

Your hyper-insensitivity to racism is clearly communicated by your avatar. Your side lost. You were wrong. Get over it.

Trump may or may not be a racist but he is utterly corrupt and lies constantly. He is ginning up this little tempest to attempt to distract from Epstein, Mueller, the airports on the 4th of July, his foreign policy failures, his Russian associations, his ineptitude at the border, being confronted over his thousands of lies, etc., etc. He's playing race games just like he did trying to delegitimize Obama.

Lindsay Graham called him a "race baiting bigot" when he wasn't conflicted. Maybe he had it right. Trump certainly hasn't improved.
