I don't think Antifa is good for the country, though I also thought the idea they would unleash violence on the US if the Democrats take the House is the worst kind of fear mongering.
The world is always full of the sound of waves..but who knows the heart of the sea, a hundred feet down? Who knows it's depth? ~ Eiji Yoshikawa

Exactly. ‘Antifa’ isn’t a lifestyle choice in the way that white nationalism and most right-wing ideologies are. About the worst that might come from them after any Democratic victories is that most of them would go back to playing video games.

In-depth and well informed social analysis ain't really your thing, is it?

Lol. That’s pretty much the extent of any of your arguments. If you have something of substance to offer, fire up your brain cells and throw down your knowledge.

I like how you narrate your life in real time.

Good thoughts all around. The point that is often overlooked by those so worried about Antifa is that although they represent an extreme ideology of the far left with an anarchist bent, they hold next to zero power within the government (if not actually zero). Now if we compare that to the political influence on the opposite end of the spectrum...

Most ‘antifa’ protesters are the weekend warriors of political activism. They don’t arrange ‘Unite the Antifa’ rallies. They don’t stitch up pretty flags based on insurgent revolutionary entities that fought their own country 150 years ago. They don’t sit around in their spare time stewing in their juices, pining away for a mythic ‘better days’ when their cohort presumably held all political and social power. They don’t concoct slogans or 14-word manifestos about protecting some particular race above all others, or try to mine religious texts in an attempt to rationalize things like slavery. They don’t march around with torches in a thinly veiled visual allusion to the symbology of historically oppressive groups that used lynching as a main event at social gatherings.
But a lot of right-wing talking heads need a new bogeyman to whip up the fear factor within their audience. They don’t dare use Russia any more, and China produces too much of the cheap Walmart stuff that they crave, so they’re left with pitching antifa as America’s new greatest threat.
