Moksha, again, Trump was sent to Washington to throw a grenade into a giant kiddy pool filled with turds. The people who hired Trump to be our President didn't care if he was a conservative or even an honorable man. Civility left DC way before Trump occupied the Whitehouse.Moksha wrote: ↑Sat Jul 10, 2021 5:13 amEspecially useful when you need a country torn apart by internal strife and insurrection for the glorification of that narcissist. by the way, he should also be praised for having the world record for most lies told by any political leader. Other politicians may be liars, but they are just pikers when it comes to Trump.Atlanticmike wrote: ↑Sat Jul 10, 2021 1:36 amBut that doesn't mean narcissist a-holes can't be useful in certain situations, like when you need a president to say F you to the Washington establishment...
Trump can kiss the butts of Putin and Kim, while standing strong against the Center for Infectious Disease Control.

Wow. I just found out that I'm a progressive and hate life in one post. Who knew?
I'll tell you what I do actually hate, though: BS. I can't think of anything else in human culture I despise more than the propagation of BS. This idea that " Trump is no different because all politicians lie" is thinly veiled BS, because it makes it sound as though all politicians lie the same way. People who say this kind of thing don't really think as much as they mentally masturbate.
There is a huge difference between telling a plausible lie and an obvious fabrication. Most politicians tell plausible lies. All Trump does is pure fabrication. To equate the two is to have your head up your ass so far, you can't hear the lies well enough to tell the difference.

Thanks Gunnar.Gunnar wrote: ↑Sat Jul 10, 2021 2:13 amI have known and appreciated Some Schmo's posts for a long time, and if you think he possesses an internal hatred for life, you don't understand him at all. He has much more real respect and honest appreciation for life than any of the hard right anti-abortionists who refuse to lift a finger to help provide for and protect all the children they insist must be carried to term, after they are no longer in the womb. There are very good reasons to minimize the number of abortions, and the decision to abort should never be taken lightly or frivolously, but I'm convinced there really are situations when abortion is the lesser evil of the available alternatives. That decision primarily belongs to the woman and her doctor. I consider myself both pro-choice and pro-life and don't find any inherent contradiction in that. I highly resent the implication that pro-choice is necessarily equivalent to anti-life. Surely the best way to minimize abortions is to prevent unwanted pregnancy in the first place. That is why it is so stupid to oppose, let alone outlaw, using or teaching about contraceptives and how to use them.Atlanticmike wrote: ↑Fri Jul 09, 2021 10:46 pmEasy, go to Some Schmo's post history and read for a few minutes.
Your take on abortion is (as is often the case) exactly the same as mine.

Alanticmike, you seem like a decent dude. The main problem I have with it was the thought that Trump, of all damned people, was the solution to Washington's problems. Does anyone really think the solution to "a giant kiddy pool filled with turds" is a grenade? If your dishwasher has broken down or your roof is leaking, do you solve that issue by burning your house down?
If the US government is so bad, the same government of the so-called "greatest country on Earth," does that mean we're lying when we claim that? If we want to destroy our government, clearly, we don't think this country is so great any more, wouldn't you say? I mean, if we valued this country, we'd try to fix it, not destroy it.

I see. You’re suggesting that the folks that sent him there did so because their injured pride and lack of maturity required that they seek a daddy figure to highlight their insecurities on a grand scale?Atlanticmike wrote: ↑Sat Jul 10, 2021 11:30 amTrump was sent to Washington to throw a grenade into a giant kiddy pool filled with turds. You do realize when throwing a grenade into a kiddy pool full of turds there's no way to just make the libtard turds stick to the walls, correct? The crazy insane right wing turds are also blown from the pool.canpakes wrote: ↑Sun Jul 11, 2021 4:34 amI see. This is the second post in the past 24rs that someone has talked about "lack of maturity" when talking about people who tend to lean conservative. I find it funny you guys believe that. Believing the "otherside" isn't mature because they don't believe what you do is laughable. There's lots of smart, mature and we'll intentionef people on both sides of the isle, if you don't think so then your still operating from a cult mentality big guy!

No precept or claim is more suspect or more likely to be false than one that can only be supported by invoking the claim of Divine authority for it--no matter who or what claims such authority.
