Earlier today I landed at a certain airport after a looooong flight and switched on my phone. I saw the news, and turning to my companion said 'Hey! Scaramucci's been fired'. I probably spoke rather more loudly than I intended, but the consequence was that the part of the aircraft within earshot was soon full of people looking at their phones and expressing mildly amused incredulity at what they saw.
That's the Trump White House: it's more and more like a clown car, with (rather worryingly) each clown that falls out of the car being replaced by a general.
What a ridiculous and more than mildly scary spectacle this is. But there will be more to come, no doubt.
