In the first place, I don't believe you. In the second place, for the umpteenth time, no one here is advocating open borders! In the third place, why are you opposed to social welfare programs, and yet opposed to raising minimum wages that are so low that, in many areas of the country, it is impossible for workers with full time, minimum wage jobs to afford housing and food for themselves and their families without the help of social welfare?
It most certainly is impossible to live off minimum wage, hence most legal citizens choose welfare over a minimum wage job. Now the working taxpayer has two groups of people to pay for, legal citizens who won't work for less and illegal immigrants who will. Why is it the taxpayers responsibility to provide for these working poor and not the business owners? Oh yes I forgot, if Kevin had to pay his illegal labor force above the table he might have to get a real job himself instead of living off cheap carpinteros flipping homes. Gotta protect the liberal elite and their unearned profit margins.
I wish it were up to you and me Gunnar. If we had to negotiate an agreement between us I seriously would open the border up as much as your side wants it open (which to me looks unrestricted and open to anyone desperate enough to make the trip). But I know you'd never do it. Until social welfare permanently infected this country, people didn't seem nearly as desperate to get into the US.
And when the confederates saw Jackson standing fearless as a stone wall the army of Northern Virginia took courage and drove the federal army off their land.
Gunnar wrote:...no one here is advocating open borders! ....
so, then what are you advocating here?

ajax, that’s a great question. What are some ways to solve that problem?
I wonder if even ajax is stupid enough to believe what ajax is spewing.
I'm beginning to agree with EA. He's just lying now. I have no idea what the point of that is. I suspect most people here already think he's dumb as rocks, and you can't lie your way out of that. What can he gain? Nothing to lose, perhaps? Finger and/or typing exercises? The need to be pointed and laughed at?
I suppose it's possible that he really is this dumb. Hard to imagine, but possible.
God belief is for people who don't want to live life on the universe's terms.
