Not a break. I am aware that you are not in my brain. Please, respond to my words. By all means. Do so with more cowbell though, please.
I respond to your words with exactly the quality of response they merit. Nothing more, nothing less.
Predictably. And, I would add that you respond with the skills and tools that you have. And when all your excuses fail, you will not respond. In the meantime, if you have something to say about Kimmel's show being discontinued, say it.

I reserve my skills for people who pass the basic reading exam. Keep trying.

Uh, ummm… Kishkuman, you’re approaching peak meltdown.
Interesting how you can't even spell a name that is throwing you into a blind rage. How your posting style has evolved? One would think someone had gotten your goat or something!

Okay, let’s break this down, ChatMDB.

While you’re busy lecturing on spelling, maybe clean up your own grammar. “How your posting style has evolved?” Really? That’s your shot? Fix your own sentences before pretending a typo is some kind of victory. But while we are here, I would like to say that Gadiantem is not in a blind rage, he just misspelled my name.

So here we are: you’re obsessing over a name spelling while your own words collapse under basic grammar. Peak meltdown achieved.

Now, can we finally dismiss the AI nonsense? Or do we move the bar again and say AI can’t spell? Or maybe this is AI? Either way, in light of your grammar slip, recalibrate your victimization and your claims about who and what we are.

I am not bargaining with unhinged lunatics here. I can hear you hyperventilating through the internet. Maybe you need to whine about me criticizing your misspellings one more time before we get whatever point it is you are making. "I misspelled on PURPOSE!!! Haha!!! Take that!!!"

Hang on. You misspelled on purpose, or I misspelled on purpose, or AI misspelled on purpose. Which one is it? I honestly don’t get the joke or the point.

You are imagining that there is a bargain. That it is unhinged. You are imagining hyperventilation. You imagine whining and crying, while ignoring the actual point, which is that you were melting down over a spelling while tripping over your own grammar. Now you are making incoherent points to yourself.

Kishkumen, do you see the real meltdown? It ain't me man. It ain't me. Or it ain't AI. At any point, you can return to the OP, or you can stay in this space you are in. I have a few more minutes for this.

What say you, so-called "conservatives"?

Real conservatives believe in the First Amendment. For them, it is not something to barter away for power, profit, or passion.

What say you?
What say me? A so-called "conservative".

Well. the first thing I will say is that I was intending to take a break from the utter lunacy, that is entirely driven by ideology, that runs rampant on this board. But, like driving by a horrific car crash, it's hard to look away.

This has nothing to do with free speech. Nothing. It has nothing to do with a joke or comedians.

It has everything to do with ABC and their broadcast license (given by the federal government via taxpayers) to broadcast in the public interest (especially on matters of public interest). This was about a malicious lie that Kimmel told his audience. The decision to remove Kimmel, whether one happens to like it or not, was entirely about the liability that ABC/Disney would face if they did not respond to the dangerous lie that Kimmel told to millions.

Kimmel can say whatever he wants - on the streets, in an interview, in a seven eleven parking lot. He just can't say whatever he wants on a federally licensed broadcasting network.

I disagree with Mr. Ceeboo here. Perhaps a disagreement of nuance.

I see it as merely a FAFO situation. Kimmel played FA and Kimmel found out. ABC and the network stations, they were fine not finding out more than was necessary. It was economic.

On the licensing front, is this like a cab medallion? If ABC has it then others can't? Limited in number? If so, then hell YES yank it and threaten to yank them all for whatever whenever. If I can't have one, then it ain't no damn first amendment issue. If anyone can have one and they threatened to take it away and ABC wilted in the sun and agreed to fire Kimmell - well that is just plain funny. They could have just gotten another license, or used Kishkumen's license.

Related to the OP:
100 Liberal Philanthropies Prepare to Push Back Against Trump Crackdown
The institutions published an open letter to defend their missions amid fears the Trump administration could target their tax-exempt status.

Over 100 largely liberal philanthropies, including those that are being targeted by the Trump administration as part of an expected crackdown after the killing of Charlie Kirk, are banding together to try and stave off attacks on the nonprofit sector.

The institutions, including the Ford Foundation and George Soros’s Open Society Foundations, on Wednesday pushed out an open letter that forcefully defended the philanthropy sector, even as its list of signers doubled as a list of the types of left-leaning charities that President Trump may target. The statement condemned political violence and any possible retribution.

“Organizations should not be attacked for carrying out their missions or expressing their values in support of the communities they serve,” the letter said. “We reject attempts to exploit political violence to mischaracterize our good work or restrict our fundamental freedoms, like freedom of speech and the freedom to give. Attempts to silence speech, criminalize opposing viewpoints, and misrepresent and limit charitable giving undermine our democracy and harm all Americans.”

Following the murder of Mr. Kirk last week, the Trump administration has said it plans to crack down on nonprofits that it accuses of fostering a culture of violence, name-checking the Ford Foundation and Mr. Soros’s group. An executive order could come as soon as this week, The Times has reported.

The nonprofit sector fears that Mr. Trump could pose an existential and financial threat to them by trying to revoke organizations’ tax-exempt status.

Many progressive philanthropies have spent the opening year of Mr. Trump’s second term unsure about how to engage publicly. Some want to speak up to defend their values, but others are nervous about drawing unwanted attention from a president who often targets his enemies.

Behind the scenes, these philanthropies have spent the last several days in close touch with one another as they try to prepare for a crackdown.

The letter reveals the nonprofits who would be expected to be at the forefront of pushing back on any attacks. Its other signers include the MacArthur Foundation; the Knight Foundation; the Omidyar Network, funded by eBay founder Pierre Omidyar; and the Schmidt Family Foundation, funded by the former Google chief executive Eric Schmidt.

Kimmel can say whatever he wants - on the streets, in an interview, in a seven eleven parking lot. He just can't say whatever he wants on a federally licensed broadcasting network.
So, you would have applauded Joe Biden, if his FCC Chairman had threatened FoxNews with the removal of their broadcast license for lying incessantly about the 2020 presidential election. You see, I recall that the remedy for this crazy abuse of the public trust was the court system. Dominion sued, and Fox had to settle for over three-quarters of a billion dollars! You know, because they were lying, and they knew they were lying, and in-house text messages proved that they knew they were lying.

In my view, undermining faith in free and fair elections is a lot more perilous for the nation than Donnie Poopy-Pants getting his knickers in a bunch over Jimmy Kimmel making fun of Trumpian buffoonery and mental illness. The Trump administration chooses to coerce companies over being responsible and simply invoking Section 4 of the 25th Amendment to end this Reign of Fail. Little Donnie threatens companies through the FCC because he has no case. He has no remedy against Jimmy Kimmel's free speech outside of leaning on ABC through the FCC to pwotect his widdle feewings.

So, you see, it does have everything to do with free speech, and if it didn't, then Trump would use the courts against ABC and Kimmel. He has no case, and so he abuses his executive power to stop Kimmel from speaking. Pretty simple really.
