Per the newspaper Haaretz via an email:

ISRAEL-U.S.: U.S. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan arrives in Israel on Sunday to meet with PM Netanyahu and war cabinet minister Benny Gantz after a visit to Saudi Arabia where he met with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. Sullivan is expected to present the Saudi and U.S. position on a cease-fire and hostage agreement, and recent progress in normalization talks with Saudi Arabia.

Republican congresswoman Elise Stefanik, invited to Israel's parliament by Speaker Amir Ohana from PM Netanyahu's Likud party, decried President Biden's decision to pause a shipment of heavy-payload bombs to Israel, saying: "There is no excuse for an American president to block aid to Israel duly passed by the Congress."

■ IRAN: A helicopter carrying Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian crashed in mountainous terrain in heavy fog after a visit to the border with Azerbaijan, an Iranian official told Reuters, who said their lives were "at risk."

■ ISRAEL: Far-right Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich said the IDF should invade and take control of southern Lebanon if Hezbollah refuses to withdraw from the Israel-Lebanon border, and that Israel's security cabinet should order a permanent military presence "in all of the Gaza Strip."

Smotrich's comments came after war cabinet minister Benny Gantz publicly addressed PM Netanyahu on Saturday night, saying that if no plan for post-war governance of Gaza is formulated and approved by June 8, his National Unity Party will withdraw from the government.

Gadi Kedem, an Israeli who lost his daughter, his son-in-law, his son-in-law's mother and his grandchildren in the October 7 Hamas attack, lodged a police complaint after being assaulted by right-wing activists on Saturday evening during a protest calling for the release of hostages. Several of the activists carried Likud flags and signs that read "Leftist traitors." Kedem suffered head injuries in the attack.

Over 1,000 Israeli academics and administrative staff have signed a petition calling on the Israeli government to immediately end the war in Gaza and return the hostages held by Hamas.

The IDF announced that Staff Sergeant Nachman Meir Haim Vaknin, 20, and Sergeant Noam Bittan, 20, were killed on Saturday fighting in southern Gaza. Maj. Gal Shabbat, 24, has died after being severely wounded in combat in northern Gaza last week.

"Gantz and Gallant have now both told the Israeli public that their prime minister is prepared to continue dragging the country deeper and deeper into Gaza without any viable plan for ending the war. They have both hinted heavily that he is doing so for political reasons, under pressure from the far right. Netanyahu's war cabinet has now voted no confidence in him. In any normal political forum, this would be the end" – Anshel Pfeffer

■ GAZA: The IDF ordered residents of additional Beit Lahia neighborhoods in north Gaza to evacuate their homes, saying it intends to operate in the neighborhoods due to Hamas activity in the area.
Israeli forces killed a senior Hamas official in Gaza responsible for the supply of weapons and funds to the organization, the IDF said.

Nearly 800,000 Palestinians have evacuated Rafah since Israel launched its ground operation on May 6, the head of UNRWA said.

Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi said that the kingdom demands an international investigation into what he said were "many war crimes" committed during Israel's military campaign in Gaza.

According to the Hamas-controlled Health Ministry in Gaza, at least 35,456 Palestinians have been killed and 79,476 wounded since the start of the war.
■ WEST BANK: Near the settlement of Eviatar, dozens of far-right activists stopped a Palestinian truck and vandalized the equipment it was carrying, claiming it was aid meant for Gaza. Border Police dispersed the rioters and arrested at least two of them, a security source told Haaretz.

A Palestinian was shot by Border Police officers at a checkpoint near Abu Dis after he tried to stab them with a screwdriver, Israel Police said.

"Israel's 76th Independence Day last week was the saddest and bleakest Independence Day since the establishment of the state. Instead of celebrating, people were asking themselves: What next? Will Israel emerge from the crisis and live to celebrate its centennial? The answer is no – not the way Israel is going" – Meirav Arlosoroff
